INNOVATIVE SPACE
AND PEDAGOGY ARTPLAY PROJECT
A multidisciplinary studio between architects and educators, to redesign the art precinct within the yarra river, Melbourne, Australia. The brief is to look upon the feasibility of the space and its pedagogy. Using the concept of both art and play, the group decided to accentuate the idea of play towards the innert brick building. Creating an active open spaces for the art center.
CURRENT FLOOR PLAN
By taking part in analysing the current state of the art center. The group has been able to forsee and redesign the different kind of spaces (quite spaces, library, ITC center, big-open space and exhibition hall) that would suit the programs held by the artists and staffs.
BEFORE &
AFTER : NEW ARTPLAY PROPOSAL
The group envisioned the new ArtPlay Center as a lively yet stimulating spaces that would furthermore enhance the different kinds of pedagogical held by the artists. ArtPlay is a place where artists and children come together for a shared creative expression. The ArtPlay Center is conceived as a ‘children’s place’ rather than a place for children. Children are able to set up their spaces that would make them feel some sense of belonging and control over their own learning.
EXIT LEFT STAGE
LOVING THEATMOSPHERIC ALIEN STUDIO
The atmospheric studio is to design a foyer for the glam rock star, David Bowie in the 1970s. The design is basedon a consideration of moments when hundreds of mad fans enters and exits the building within the two main access that are 9m high of the venue hall. The context of the design is on a hypothetical site, 2nd of July 1973, where David Bowie held his last Ziggy Stardust concert. The design of the foyer is based ona self-interpretation of the mid-summer 70s in London. The concept of the design draws back to David Bowie’s personas, the transition he has made and achieved through the characters, costumes, make ups and songs that he exposed.along with thecultural context of: self expression and exploration in London (the lifestyle of drug used, dressing up and make ups).

CONSTRUCTION OFFICE TOWER
The design of the 60 storeys office tower is based on a consideration on technical as well as economical understanding that inform feasibility studies for a commercial tower in the Melbourne CBD. The design is to celebrate the simplicity of a square geometry scheme while at the same time established the challenged of designing a twsiting skyscraper that is envisioned to be the new landmark in Melbourne. Each floor plate is twisted 1.5 degree from the central core, giving a total of up to 120 degrees. This as the same time pushes the group to solve the issues of efficiency of rentable areas affected by the twisting nature. The commercial tower project leads the group to touch on the issue of mechanical floor, vertical circulation along the facts of sustainability and efficiency within the twisting building.
CONSTRUCTION DESIGN
DOCUMENTATION PROJECT The aim of the documentation project is to finalize the construction drawing of an office building located in Cardigan Street, Carlton, Melbourne; specifying the materiality along with the details of the internal and structural system.
