Annual Conference Registration Opens JULY 1, 2010 Join your colleagues from school districts throughout the state at the 2010 Annual Conference sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association in Cooperation with the Missouri Association of School Administrators. In these challenging times, it’s more important than ever that you have the skills and knowledge you need to manage resources effectively while maintaining quality educational programs for students. The 2010 Annual Conference will focus on the leadership required in the current environment we’re all facing. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from experts and share information with one another that will help you make the best decisions for the students in your school district. An effective leadership team can make all the difference for a school district facing difficult decisions. The 2010 Annual Conference will help both school boards and superintendents work more effectively to not just meet our challenges, but to continue to improve student achievement throughout our state. Conference Highlights continued Saturday, October 23 (continued) 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. • 2nd General Session • David Zach David Zach is one of the few professionally trained futurists in the United States, having earned a master’s degree in Studies of the Future from the University of Houston Clear Lake. As a futurist, Dave has worked with over 1000 corporations, schools and associations offering insights on the personal and professional impact of strategic trends. As a speaker, he guides his audience on an entertaining, futuristic tour of technology, economics, business, education, and society. Dave gets his facts and ideas from a daily study of books, magazines, newspapers, on-line explorations and a spectrum of coffee shop discussions. Dave previously worked at Johnson Controls and Northwestern Mutual Life in the roles of environmental scanning and strategic planning. He also taught Future Studies in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dave is a member of the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Advisory Council. Past activities include: Future Milwaukee Advisory Board, Community Advisory Board for public radio station WUWM, board member of eInnovate, member of the downtown Rotary Club of Milwaukee, board member of the American Institute of Architects-Wisconsin, chairman of the Goals for Greater Milwaukee 2000 Education Committee and co-chair for Design Milwaukee.

Missouri’s Outstanding Board of Education for 2010 and the Superintendent of the Year will be announced during the event. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy dinner together with other members of your district’s leadership team as well as with colleagues from other school districts in the state. It’s a great opportunity to relax and reflect on the sessions and workshops you have attended at the 2010 Annual Conference.
