DESCRIPTION:

The Queen Conch is a large marine snail that can live to over 30 years, and takes around 5 years before they can reproduce. In the environment, they are an important part of the “clean-up crew”, removing detritus and other organic matter from the seafloor.

In The Bahamas, they are regarded as an important source of protein, and are considered so culturally significant, they feature on The Bahamian Coat of Arms!
