Haring Karabao Celebration: Postwar Practice in honor of Beast of Burden in Sta.Cruz, Marinduque The initial documentation of the practices involved with the celebration of Haring Karabao in Hupi, Sta. Cruz, Marinduque The researcher used qualitative methods to document the celebration and make sense of the practice in the town of Sta.Cruz. The researcher also conducted a survey to determine the level of awareness of the people in said town in Marinduque about the celebration of Haring Karabao. This research was substantiated by interviews of different stakeholders and significant participants which the researcher do believe could add information about the topic. Research findings revealed that the annual celebration of Haring Carabao started as early as 1941 and it was decided since to be celebrated every 6th of January. The fundadores formed an organization namely Organization of Haring Karabao. Like many festivals and practices it also has objectives that the practitioners and people take it on their lives. Affair to pay tribute to the carabaos which is the beast of burden of every farmers on the time of World War II. The organization aimed to develop this celebration that would promote it as festival on the future. This research preserves the belief and practices of people in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.
