ASUNTO, SUNSHINE G. AND ALOJADO, DIANNE O. NOVEMBER 2016. HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONDUCT OF KANGGA FESTIVAL IN MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. MARINDUQUE STATE COLLEGE. This was a documentary study on the historical development of Kangga Festival in the town of Mogpog and its public reaction to the changes of the traditional practices of the said Festival. It attempted to find out its historical background and also the conduct of other significant activities involved in this festival. The main objective of this study is to document Kangga Festival of Mogpog. The study aimed to document Kangga Festival with the help of the organizers of the event and also other officials of municipality of Mogpog. This study used descriptive type of research to determine the changes that occurred in practice of Kangga festival. The respondents of the study were the registered participants who attended the conduct of this festival every year, as well as the 50 residents representing the public that come from this municipality. Available documents and interview together with the 50 questionnaires were used to carry out the study. Based on the gathered data, the conduct of the Kangga Festival is still intact as its tradition with its authentic conduct every year but most of the respondents said that there are changes that occur in the conduct of this festival every year. The result of the study would eventually help to preserve the tradition of Kangga Festival and will give information to other tourist that there is an existing festival in Mogpog, Marinduque. only to the history, activities and implications of the said festival. Nevertheless, it showed that the tradition of MogpogueĂąos in the conduct of Kangga Festival in their place should be preserved and if the other significant activities need modifications there should be a balance between tourism economy purposes and the cultural preservation as the residents living in the province of Marinduque.
