CERAUS -

’APPLE CACTUS’

Part of the CACTACEAE FAMILY, theycan grow very tall, and spiky. CARE;

They love light, but not so much the outside. Water once weekly.

HEDERA -

‘ENGLISH IVY’

Helix’ English Ivy’, are part of the HEDARE FAMILY. They are great climbers and love to hang down. CARE:

They need plenty of bright light and regularly watered.

BAMBOO POACEAE-

Theses are part of the POACEAE FAMILY, which are a type of grass. CARE:

They love lots and lots of water, and plenty of light

FURNS

-POLYSTICHUM

They many families of FURNS, but they all look alike. Also they are flowerless and seedless, but make spores. CARE:

They DON’T like direct sunlight. But do love lots of water at their roots, DON’T lets them dry out.

These belong to the PELARGORNIUM FAMILY, but at commonly though to be gernaimuns because of their similar leafs shapes. But they belong to another family. CARE: Like most plants, they love planty of water and light.

PELATUM

ADIANTUM-

‘MAIDEN HAIR’

They are the most popular members of the FURN family, but their fine stems are similar to human hair- which is why they are called ‘Maiden Hair’ CARE: Like Furns, they DON’T like bright

lights, but love lots of water.

PALMEA-

YELLOW BUTTERFLY’

They are part of the CHRYSALIDOCARPU FAMILY, one of the most popular palms grown indoors. CARE:

They love direct light and plenty of it. Also regularly get watered.

AVOCADO LAURACEAE

I love growing avocados because their easy to grow and look after, its takes nothing a all and is free when you buy the actual fruit. All you need is

-A jar of water -Cocktail sticks -Avocado seeds 1. Buy a avocado. 2. Carefully cut out the seed and clean it. 3. Stick 3 cocktail sticks around the middle of the seed. 4. Place the bottom in water and place on a window sill. 5. Roots should appear with in a few weeks, just keep in water and clean out once a week.

CHLOROPHYTUM -

‘SPIDER PLANT’ Part of the CHLOROPHYTUM FAMILY. They create little clones of themselves, that spring out on stems and makes separate plants. 1. Placed the little platelets in shallow water 2. Clean it out regularly 3. Until little roots show, then they can be potted into soil. CARE:

They prefer bright light. They love their water (if you get paler/ bleached leaves, which mean they aren’t getting enough water, this will go away soon with plenty of watering).

These plants are part of the DRACAENA FAMILY. They can grow very tall nad have long leaves.

Care:

They love light. They also don’t mind the cold too much. Water regularly, but don’t let them standing in water.

- 1979, Readers Digest ‘SUCCESS WITH HOUSE PLANTS’. But any gardening book would be helpful to a budding beginner.

Basically I love plant, and want them to take over the world, like they have done my life.
