Over the summer, I decided to document my time in the North, primarily in Huddersfield and the different locations around the town.

Location: Castle Hill, Huddersfield Medium: Pen I first went to visit one of the more popular sites in Huddersfield where Victoria’s Tower stands (built in 1899 as gift to Queen Victoria for being the longest reighning monarch) and the well around the other side of the hill. I enjoyed illustrating the amount of textures and forms around this area.

From walking through the various parts of forest around Huddersfield, I noticed a clearing that showed a view over the houses of the town to the hills. However, I felt that the plant life in the foreground was quite interesting, as there was many different textures and shapes to create a composition.

Location: Oldham, Saddleworth (Moors) Medium: Pen
Passing through whilst on a drive from Manchester to Huddersfield through the moors.

7
Location: Digley Reservoir, Holme Medium: Pen Just outside of Huddersfield, I took a walk around the lake until I came to this structure which fascinated me as you could peer over the edge and all there is, is darkness and water.
8
Location: Hollingworth lake, Littleborough Medium: Pen Moving out from Huddersfield I went to a resevoir close by, where I spent most of my time in the local four star fish and chip shop (Mr. Thomas’s). I feel that this image works very well as it usessome elements of continous line.
9
Location: Beaumont Park, Huddersfield Medium: Pen After walking through the woodland section of the park, I came across a large, overgrown gate. It was very eery walking through a darker section of the wooded park to stumble across this massive structure.
