‘When I’m walking down the street and I see someone waving, I always wave back, and then slowly start to relaise that the friendly ‘hello’ was not for me. This also happens to me when people are talking and I respond to see that they’re actually just on the phone.’ - 19

‘I fell asleep once while my friend was in the middle of the story, but woke up just in time for them to ask me a question, relating to the conversation. I answered it, but to this day I’m not sure what we were talking about.’ - 20 6
‘The moment before you first kiss someone, and your foreheads are touching, and your waiting for someone to make the move. Its like two rhinos, who were originally going to fight, but now they’re not sure why they came in the first place. If that makes sense?’ -19

‘The thought of making a lasting bad first impression, always worries me. Especially, if it was the first time meeting someones parents, or during an interview. And it is exactly this worry, that causes me to be awkward in any situation like that.’ -20 8
‘I regularly sing into hairbrushes, and dance in the mirror. But each time without fail, someone will walk in and see me, and it always seems to happen before a meal. So, I have to sit at the table hoping no one reveals my secret.’ -20
9
‘I’m always forgetting what I was saying half way through a conversation. Then as soon as the other person starts talking, I’ll remember where I was up to, but the moment is lost.’ -21

‘My attempts to hide from people I know. This always happens to me in supermarkets.’ -18 W
This Zine aims to make you feel more comfortable, about all those times you’ve felt uncomfortable. Hopefully, it contains some moments you’ve experienced, and will make you question why you found it awkward in the first place.
