The little fire
“In the jungle things need fixing the hard-working animals understood, so they decide to gather ‘round the little fire of burning jungle wood.”
Can a museum be a weapon? Artists, poets and filmmakers travel across the land, with the certainty that those who live in the mountains and in the fields should also experiment, and see what can be seen in the great galleries of the museums and theater halls of the capital. They go by train, by car, on donkeys. A museum of the people does not have an inside or an outside, it is not barricaded by white walls, but goes out to the street, to the country, to the mountains and to the fields. There they unroll their sheets and install their portable projectors, with the certainty that culture and art have revolutionary power because they are of the world. Art is solidarity, it cannot be enclosed or possessed. That is political.
