IT MEANS EVERYTHING
MATT JAMISON
Materials and Corrosion Engineer at Chevron

It is hard to put into words exactly what Mississippi State University has meant to me. I thought instead, I would put together what Engineering on the Coast has enabled me and my family to do. The Engineering on the Coast program allowed me to return to school at 38 years old and pursue my dream of being an engineer while working to support my family. For my kids, it helped me to be an example that if their dad can work, help with their homework, take out the trash every night, and still stay on top of my studies, then they have no excuses to not follow their dreams. For my wife, well, let’s be honest, she is my biggest fan and my biggest reason I push myself. I think the program showed her what she always knew was within me. Somewhere deep inside, there was more than just what I had settled for. For me, the program enabled me to accomplish my dream of becoming an engineer. I guess it is easy to put into words what Mississippi State University’s Engineering on the Coast has meant for me. It has meant everything.”
