LOYAL FRIENDS WE'LL ALWAYS BE.
THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY.
You’ll never experience anywhere else like it. The grass here — it’s greener. There is even science behind it. The people — they’re one-of-a-kind. They bring you in as one of their own. You’re lost on campus one minute, and the next, well, you're found — found by someone you don’t know who cares about you simply because you're on our soil. The atmosphere — it’s rare. You’re in the Junction, and all of a sudden you're hanging out with sixty thousand of your closest friends. That bond you’re experiencing — it’s the cowbells. It’s true. It’s real.

ATHLETICS
RING YOUR COWBELL
Long ago, while defending our home turf against our archrival, a Jersey cow wandered onto the field. A Bulldog win sealed the cow as a good luck charm. Eventually, in lieu of bringing a cow to every game, the MSU cowbell –– one of college athletics’ most unique traditions –– was born. The ringing of 60,000 cowbells makes for one of the most exciting environments in college football!

The conversations I had with admissions staff and Shackouls Honors College faculty and students were the ones that made me realize the potential for unique opportunities – whether they be in academics, mentorship, or community – here at MSU.

I have been able to make an impact in multiple ways through organizations and simple conversations with strangers. This school has molded me into the man I am today, and I am sure that no other school would have been as impactful as Mississippi State.

My favorite thing about living in Starkville is being a part of the community. I love eating at local restaurants, serving in the community, going to the Starkville Community Market, and shopping downtown, among so many other things! Mississippi State and Starkville complement and support support each other so beautifully.

There are a lot of things that I love about living in Starkville. I love the friendly community that Starkville is based off where everyone is always willing to lend a helping hand. It also doesn’t hurt that Starkville has some amazing food.

I love the Starkville community. It really is the people that make the place. The small town charm that Starkville has is special, and it has developed a tight-knit community that wants to support its students in any and every way.
