Scheduled to complete a four-game GNAC series on Monday, a baseball doubleheader between MSUB and NNU has been cancelled due to rain. BILLINGS, Mont. – The final two games in the four-game Great Northwest Athletic Conference series between visiting Northwest Nazarene University and host Montana State University Billings have been cancelled due to rain announced MSUB athletics officials Monday. The series was originally scheduled to be played on Friday and Saturday at Dehler Park, but was pushed to Saturday and Monday due to last week’s poor weather forecast. The games scheduled for Monday will not be made up, as the Yellowjackets already visited the Crusaders in Nampa, Idaho where the teams split a four-game series earlier this year. NNU won Game 1 on Friday 2-1, and the Yellowjackets rallied to take the second game 8-4 as the overall season series split at three games apiece. MSUB hits the road for a grueling stretch of nine games in seven days starting next weekend. The ‘Jackets visit Concordia University in Portland, Ore., for a four-game series starting Saturday, before playing five games in Monmouth, Ore., against GNAC-leading Western Oregon University.
MSUB’s final home series of the year is scheduled for May 5-6 at Dehler Park against Saint Martin’s University. The Yellowjackets are 18-16 overall and are 12-13 in conference play to sit in fourth place. The top-three teams earn a spot in the 2016 GNAC Baseball Championships, hosted by the regular-season champion. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
