Kendall Denham and Jace Anderson represent MSUB’s men’s basketball team by earning academic all-conference honors announced Tuesday. PORTLAND, Ore. – Junior Jace Anderson and sophomore Kendall Denham represented the Montana State University Billings men’s basketball team on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-academic squad announced Tuesday. Anderson earned the honor for the second season in a row, and this season was Denham’s first year being eligible for the award as players must be in their second season competing for a team to earn the honor. “Both Kendall and Jace are exactly what you look for when recruiting student-athletes into your program,” said MSUB head coach Jamie Stevens. “Since the day they stepped on our campus, they have developed in every facet of their lives; on the court, off the court, and in the classroom. They are great ambassadors for not only our program, but for the entire university.” Anderson holds a 3.59 grade point average and is studying finance. Denham is studying health and human performance and holds a 3.24 GPA.
Before suffering a season-ending knee injury, Anderson was averaging 14.1 points and 25.9 minutes in a dozen games played. One of MSUB’s top 3-point shooters and defenders, Anderson was shooting 43.3 percent from 3-point range and 48.7 percent overall from the field. He also averaged 1.4 rebounds per game, had 33 assists and 13 steals, and was an 83.9 percent shooter from the foul line. MSUB’s starting point guard, Denham is averaging 8.7 points per game and has a stellar assist-turnover ratio of 1.84 with 59 assists and just 32 turnovers on the year. Denham is shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from 3-point range, and 82.2 percent from the foul line. Junior Jace Anderson.
The Yellowjackets are currently 10-16 overall and 7-11 in GNAC play with two games remaining on the regular season schedule. MSUB hosts No. 1 Western Oregon University on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Concordia University (Ore.) on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Alterowitz Gym. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
