Coming off its first win of the season Saturday, MSUB’s men’s basketball team takes on Rocky Mountain College Tuesday night at the Fortin Center in Billings. BILLINGS, Mont. – After picking up its first win of the year on Saturday, the Montana State University Billings men’s basketball team returns home to take on crosstown rival Rocky Mountain College on Tuesday night at the Fortin Center in a game broadcast live on SWX. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and it will be the first of two meetings between the Billings teams this season. Local fans can tune into the game on channel 8.2 or on channel 503 on Charter. Tickets for Tuesday’s game are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free admission for children under the age of eight. MSUB (1-1) is coming off of an 88-80 victory over Holy Names University on Saturday, as the ‘Jackets split their first two games of the season in California. Senior Marc Matthews scored a career-best 30 points against the Hawks, while Preston Beverly chipped in 20 points and Christian Evans had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.


The win came after a 101-86 loss at No. 9 Cal Baptist University, a game in which MSUB’s top-three scorers were all freshmen. Zack Lessinger led the way with 18 points, Cinco Durr added 15, and Ryan Chappell had 13 points as all three players were making their collegiate debuts. The Bears (3-1) are coming off their first loss of the year, falling 88-84 at Dickinson State last Thursday. RMC will play an exhibition game on Wednesday at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. MSUB will host Cal State East Bay on Saturday night at 7 p.m., before three more road contests to close out nonconference play. Great Northwest Athletic Conference action begins on Dec. 3 at Alterowitz Gym as the ‘Jackets host Concordia University at 7 p.m. The Bears will play at Alterowitz Gym on Dec. 10 in a game broadcast live on ESPN Radio 910 KBLG in Billings. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
