Joe Scott earns academic all-GNAC honors for the second straight season, while Tom Lohmann and Garret Robinson are first-time award winners to represent MSUB’s men’s soccer team. PORTLAND, Ore. – Three players from the Montana State University Billings men’s soccer team earned academic allGreat Northwest Athletic Conference honors, announced the conference office on Thursday. Goalkeepers Joe Scott and Tom Lohmann, and defender Garret Robinson each were recognized for their work in the classroom by representing the Yellowjackets on the academic all-conference team. “We are very proud of Garret, Tom, and Joe for their excellence in the classroom,” said MSUB head coach Alex Balog. “Our bottom line is to push our student-athletes to get good grades, and help them become men of character. This achievement shows the path our program is on and we will always strive to do even better. We hope the success that these three are having will spur the rest of the guys on the team to achieve the same.”


Scott was a repeat winner for the ‘Jackets, taking home academic all-conference honors for the second straight season. Starting in goal for nine games this season, Scott has made 26 saves and holds a 1.24 goals-against average in 868 minutes. He has also recorded a pair of shutouts, and has a save percentage of 68.4. Scott is a political science major, who holds a 3.55 grade point average. Another goalkeeper on the team, Lohmann has four starts this year and held a goals-against average of 1.00 in 360 minutes before sustaining an injury. He made 17 saves and recorded a pair of shutouts, and boasts a save percentage of 81.0. The senior from Germany holds a 3.44 grade point average while studying business management at MSUB. A senior defender for the ‘Jackets, Robinson has started 10 matches and logged 773 minutes as an outside back. Wearing the captain’s arm band, Robinson also has one assist this season, and has been a vital part of the Yellowjackets’ back line. Robinson is a psychology major, and has a 3.28 grade point average at MSUB. A minimum grade point average of 3.20 is required for recognition on the GNAC academic all-conference team, and student-athletes must also be in at least their second year of competition with their respective university to be eligible for the award. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
