KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Winning the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the seventh time in program history, the Montana State University Billings men’s soccer team was recognized for its academic achievements in an announcement made on Thursday. The award is given to high school and college soccer teams in the United States that post a collective grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. Thursday’s award recognized teams that achieved the feat throughout the 2015-16 year. “I’m glad that we’ve been able to get this award again, and it is very important to us that our student-athletes are successful in classroom,” said MSUB head coach Alex Balog. “Just like with our results on the field, getting this award shows that our program is going in the right direction. Hopefully we can build on this and make this award an annual celebration of academic success in the classroom. We will make sure we keep emphasizing the importance of academic success with our student-athletes.”
