Senior Kari Kastelic and sophomore Lili Delgadillo earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors announced by the organization on Thursday BILLINGS, Mont. – Kari Kastelic and Lili Delgadillo of the Montana State University Billings women’s soccer team were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-Region team for District 8 announced by the organization on Thursday. “I am extremely happy that Kari and Lili are being recognized with this award,” said MSUB head coach Wojtek Krakowiak. “They have put in a lot of long hours and now it is paying off. It is challenging to balance academics and soccer, but at the same time Kari and Lili are perfect examples that it is very possible. Academics are extremely important in our program and congratulations to both of them for well-deserved recognition.” Kastelic is a senior captain on the team who has played every minute of her three-year career with the ‘Jackets as a center back. She was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic All-Region selection in 2015, and is a two-time academic all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference pick.

Kastelic will graduate in the spring with a degree in finance, and currently holds a 3.93 cumulative grade point average. Delgadillo, MSUB’s starting goalkeeper this season, has also played every minute of the year. She ranks third in the GNAC with 77 saves, and holds a goals-against average of 1.65. Recently selected to the GNAC academic all-conference team for the first time in her career, Delgadillo holds a 3.89 grade point average while studying health and human performance at MSUB. MSUB was the only team in the GNAC to have two players selected to the academic all-district team, while Central Washington University, Concordia University, Saint Martin’s University, Western Washington University, and Seattle Pacific University each had one selection. Among the honorees from the GNAC was Delgadillo’s sister Ana, who is a junior defender for Concordia. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
