Maintaining a team grade point average above 3.0 for the 2015-16 academic year, MSUB’s women’s soccer team wins the Team Academic Award from the NSCAA for the 15th consecutive year. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Highlighting its perpetual excellence in the classroom, the Montana State University Billings women’s soccer team won its 15th consecutive National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award announced the organization on Thursday. The award is given to high school and college soccer teams in the United States that post a collective grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. Thursday’s award recognized teams that achieved the feat throughout the 2015-16 year. “I am proud of the team, and this is an award that we always try to get,” said MSUB head coach Wojtek Krakowiak. “All of the credit goes to the players for their hard work in the classroom. It is important to our program that we continue this tradition and keep getting good grades.”


A total of 892 soccer teams (314 men and 578 women) earned the award for the latest academic year. The ‘Jacket women were one of five teams from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference honored, as Northwest Nazarene University, Saint Martin’s University, Seattle Pacific University, and Western Oregon University also received the award. MSUB is 2-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the GNAC this season, and resumes conference play Thursday night with an 8 p.m. Mountain time kickoff at No. 5 Western Washington University at Harrington Field in Bellingham, Wash. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
