Back to the “New Normal”
m
any of you are probably wondering what it’s been like for a student this year. The CM program has maintained face-to-face classes for the 2021-2022 academic year. Fall was
a bit different than normal, having to still social distance and wear masks. When spring resumed masks and social distance went away and its kind of felt like the “new normal” in the class room. Our high expectations have remained the same, requiring rigorous class projects, the Capstone project, and the AC exam. Thanks to our industry partners, our students saw numerous local projects as well!
Construction Management Job Fair – Fall 2022

NDSU Fall job fair. If your company is interested in being a part of this event, please contact Rachel.axness@mstate.edu / Jay.cournia@mnstate.edu / John.green@mnstate.edu

General Equipment Demo Day
f
High School.
all semester, General Equipment hosted our seniors for a demo day to operate equipment. Each student got the opportunity to operate an articulated truck,
pay loader, dozer, and excavator. Let’s just say this was one of their favorite field
trips! Thanks to Micah Tysver (2004), who is one of our industry board members, for creating this opportunity for our students. At the end April, this same opportunity was open for our juniors, sophomores, and freshman. General Equipment hosted another demo day in conjunction with North Dakota Construction Leadership Council. Thank you General Equipment!

Construction Management Society – Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity
t
he Construction Management Society was busy this year doing a bunch of different activities. Students had multiple bowling nights, dodgeball events, and volunteered
for different organizations. Students volunteered two different times for the Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity to help put siding on houses. Students got to gain experience on how to install siding, fascia, and soffit. The leader of the group Humberto Espitia a student of our CM program worked for Habitat for Humanity, so he was able to get student out to get some real-world experience!
ASC Region 4 Student Competition
t
his past October, we had two teams attend the student ASC
