HW #3 Everyday Object In this assignment, you will use your skills of shading using an array of values as well as exercise your eyes and brain to draw what you see. Drawing what you see is difficult and not very easy for the beginner. But observational drawing takes practice and patience and with your new skills of shading and color blending, this will be a good challenge for you all. You will need to choose an everyday object that is important to you and draw it by observation. I encourage you to be creative in your choice and think about the FORM of the object itself. Is the form interesting (blow dryer or bowl with chopsticks) or is it dull (like a cellphone or laptop)? Please choose something interesting, as it will make a difference in your drawing! You will complete this drawing in color pencils using the color blending we practiced in our recent project. Think about mixing different color pencil hues together to create an even richer color in your object. You will need to set up your object on a flat surface with an obvious light source, so again, you will use the desk lamp that you used for the book in 2 point perspective assignment. You should angle the light on your object so a shadow is cast on the surface. Use the entire page and think of how to shade around the object to make it look 3 dimensional. *Advanced students, I expect you challenge yourself by creating a mini still life of 3 everyday objects and drawing them as a group. Here are some examples below:
