Dr Ruby Bakshi Khurdi, an innovative academic from Switzerland, believes that the answer lies in fostering our human values that help us distinguish between right and wrong. “To create a promising future for our children, where technology enhances their quality of life instead of diminishing it, we need to teach them strong values and develop their critical thinking and emotional intelligence. ” As an academician, her teaching focuses on learning through team spirit, leadership development and quality management. She has attended various cultural tours with international group of students to Turkey, Amsterdam, China, France, Prague and within Switzerland. Founder of Indo-Swiss Cultural Network, Ruby promotes healthy cultural integration and helps members of the Indian community living in Switzerland to adapt and adjust with Swiss norms!! She uses this platform to share women’s inspirational stories, rich experiences, job postings, and exchange ideas for community development. A highly successful and inspira-
tional professor, Ruby is teaching courses related to Human Resources, Communication, Business Ethics and Marketing in Business and Hospitality Management Schools. Ruby has given various successful workshops & podcasts on topics related to Effective Communication, Human Values, Women Empowerment & Emotional Intelligence. Ruby does not come across as a regular Academician; due to her personalized approach towards teaching. Sometimes for case studies, she conducts her classes outside in the garden or in the cafeteria where students discuss and talk more freely without any pressure. Her teaching is not just limited within the boundaries of a classroom; it extends even outside. She is always there to give constant support to her students. Ruby is not just teaching Knowledge, she is teaching Wisdom Ruby believes in leading with innovative styles of teaching and learning – her strength is her voice! Her approach has always been different from her colleague instead of following a conservative approach of publishing her articles, writing business papers, she listened to her inner voice! She decided to reach out to her students, help them, spend time with them, mentor them and give them visibility! She has been an inspirational professor to many students from diverse backgrounds – helping them to feel at home and settle comfortably in a foreign country away from their families.
