To celebrate the annual Neighbours Day Aotearoa, we hold an Easter Play Day on 19th March. There were 17 families turn up on the day (49 person including 26 Kids). We were so happy to see the kids actively participate in the activities, particularly the games we add in our Play Day first time. A parent found this is “an opportunity for kids to come together, play, explore new fun activities within a specified time.” Thanks to Earth Action Trust, Evelyn and Jigna for the prizes. Special thanks to the Puketapapa Local Board for the $160 supermarket voucher towards food and catering items. Last but not least, deep appreciation to all the volunteers’ help in this endeavor. * To see more photos click here, to see the Video of the day click here

Getting More Involved Mt Roskill Toy Library will turn 2 in this August. As it grows, it relies on volunteers to make it run well, plus it's a great way to meet new people and help our community! If you or any of your family member would be happy to offer any skills on occasion, or be interested in offering any help that would benefit our toy library, please let us know at http:// goo.gl/forms/HE7oJ2PKjS6vJ00s1. Thanks in advance for your generous support.

Thanks to the Lottery Community Grant, in June we received $1035 including GST towards our rent for the place.

As you noticed, toys need to be returned clean and dry (in the condition you would like to receive them). Also, it helps to stop the spread of germs, especially in the winter season. Here are some tips about how to clean the toys:  If soiled, wash the toy well with hot, soapy water. You might need to use a toothbrush to get into all the nooks and crannies. A grease-removing formula usually does the trick for stubborn dirt. Rinse.  Dry the toy well with fresh air or a clean towel. While still damp, use a satay stick with cotton wool to make very fine buds to clean all edges so that the toy is perfectly clean.  If your child has been ill, please disinfect the toys, but do not soak them in disinfectant as this can remove the color from some plastics.
