INTRODUCTION This photo ebook is a journal of nightlife (and daylife) as seen on the Duval Street Livecam in Key West Florida.

I love watching livecams. I also love observing people. Combine these two habits, and here you have it, my photo ebook series, titled, Portraits Of Duval Street.

From one stationary live camera located above the sidewalk and street at a bar called Irish Kevin's, I capture 1,000's of moments lived by people walking up and down the street, or who go into the bar for a drink, and to enjoy listening to the live music always playing there.

You may ask why do I spend so much time watching this camera, and snapping these screenshots of people? Well I've already said that I love watching livecams, and I love observing people. The livecam at this location gives me the opportunity to do that while I'm working on projects at my computer. Also, I have a day (night) job that allows me all the freedom I want to spend time watching livecams. Why not use the time that I have to turn what I see into a awesome photo ebook project that is full of great moments captured on the street?

I've seen so many smiles and hugs shared by people in front of the camera on Duval Street, either by watching on my cellphone at my home office desk, or while at work. I just have a great time watching the people, and sometimes cool cars and trucks pass by that are fun to see.

Just watching the people sometimes reminds me of my younger years when I too used to enjoy the nightlife at bars while in the military with good friends and nice crowds.

Also, around the time that I started this photo ebook series, I had just bought a new truck. So I was a bit into slowing down on my spending, and staying home more. This just added more time for me to work on this project. The more I've worked on it, the more I love it.

So, these photos are not the highest quality photos. They are screenshots from a livecam positioned above a bar entrance. The lighting isn't the best in these photos regardless of whether during daytime or nighttime, but this doesn't deter me from capturing some great photos. Sometimes great photos are not going to be highdefinition quality. These photos are what they are, and I think they are good enough for the context behind why I take them. I have enhanced the photos for the best appearance possible given the source that they came from.

I hope you enjoy this photo ebook as much as I did watching the livecam and collecting the photos to put this project together.
