About Dr. Mui Dr. Karson Mui graduated top of his class from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida and continues to purse learning additional therapies to expand his capabilities. He is well versed in providing treatment for physical rehabilitation as well as pain management. Whiplash, brain injury, and scoliosis are other areas of his expertise. Dr. Mui is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician who specializes in working with athletes and sports rehabilitation. Incidentally, Dr. Mui’s experience with sports is what led him to chiropractic medicine. His experience as a wrestler in high school caused lasting injuries including jammed fingers, a dislocated elbow, and other injuries to his neck and lower back. After his first adjustment, Dr. Mui was pain free. Inspired by that moment, he decided that being a chiropractor and providing natural care and pain relief was his calling. With a background in biotechnology and pharmaceutical development, Dr. Mui integrates Scientific theory into his practice and merges it
science behind what he is doing for his patients. However, his favorite aspect of his job is being able to implement his knowledge by working with his hands to help those in need and truly make a difference in his patient’s lives. Dr. Mui’s most memorable experience in chiropractic was during a mission trip to Vietnam as a student at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. He was part of a team that saw hundreds of patients within a four day clinic rotation. One of his patients was a three year old girl who had an undiagnosed dislocated shoulder. The child’s mother cried as her daughter was able to reach out to grab a lollipop from Dr. Mui’s hands. These experiences are what drives Dr. Mui to continue to develop his skills in natural care practices, provide the highest quality care to his patients, and work towards his personal mission of helping as many people in his lifetime as possible.
What Makes Dr. Mui Different?
Sports Medicine with an emphasis on chiropractic
care is an important focus of Mui Chiropractic and Sports Medicine. Chiropractic care is the backbone to rehabilitation. After an injury, and during maintenance while training and the off-season. When undergoing a combination of muscular-skeletal treatments, athletes have left our clinic being able to perform at a higher level than before they started their treatment program. As an avid sports enthusiast, one of Dr. Mui’s priorities is to help and support athletes, regardless of their sport, on improving and increasing their level of performance. He has volunteered in many sports events to care for the needs of the participating athletes. In addition, Dr. Mui is a member of numerous sports councils across the northeast region, with the hopes of educating others on the techniques and benefits of chiropractic care. He is also the founder of New England Sports Medicine Council, which represents highly skilled sports physicians teaching fellow practitioners. They also create a resource of clinicians to provide care at a variety of local sports venues. Dr. Mui recently volunteered for the third time at the Boston Marathon. He worked in the main medical tent at the finish line. Having gone through the tragic experience of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, Dr. Mui will choose to return to future Boston marathon races to support and serve as a medical volunteer. Dr. Mui is also currently working towards his certification for the Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.

Techniques F.A.K.T.R Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation was developed to help speed recovery from chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes and has also been shown to work extremely well on acute musculoskeletal and fascial conditions.
In our clinical experience, combining manual treatment of soft tissue with proprioceptive exercises produces faster results than conventional treatment methods.
This form of manual treatment is provided by chiropractors, physical therapists, certified Chronic pain results from dysfunction of the athletic trainers, medical doctors, occupational sensorimotor system, which is manifested therapists, podiatrists, and dentists. in soft tissue and fascia. This new treatment approach to soft tissue dysfunction combines This technique was developed by Tom Hyde instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization with D.C., Greg Doerr D.C., and Vince DeBono D.C. in proprioceptive techniques to reduce pain and 2002 return function.
Graston Technique Graston Technique is form of soft tissue manipulation that utilizes stainless steel instruments. By using this toolkit of instruments, the doctor can precisely release and lengthen tightened tissue at a deeper level than just using hands. Scar tissue is broken down and reabsorbed into the body.
Before Treatment you will undergo a consultation with the doctor to understand your specific concerns and needs. Graston Technique will be added to your treatment plan if the doctor feels you will benefit from it.
Soft tissue is the tissue that surrounds your organs and connects your non-bone structures. These include ligaments, tendons, fat, fibrous tissues, and other connective tissues. Soft tissue is essential to communication between layers of muscles and the proper functioning of those muscles.
During Treatment you may experience increased skin temperature from the increased rate of blood flow to and from the area. You may also feel some discomfort as the doctor uses the instruments to manually manipulate your tissues.
Graston Technique is often a compliment to a chiropractic treatment plan as well as physical therapy. It is also advantageous to receive treatment before, during, and after a sports event. This enables your muscles to warm up properly to enhance performance and recover efficiently to return to training. It is beneficial for all level athletes of any sport. NFL players can often be seen receiving it on the sidelines at games.
After Treatment you may have redness, soreness and/ or bruising from the treatment since it works your tissues on a very deep level. A treatment plan usually lasts for 4-5 weeks with two treatments per week. Most patients have a positive response by the third to fourth treatment.
Vibration Therapy Vibration Therapy is a supplemental form of therapy that compliments well with chiropractic treatment and physical therapy. It is based on using a vibration plate or machine to stimulate the muscles and tendons. A vibration plate uses minute and rapid up-and-down and right-and-left vibrations to strengthen muscles and tendons.
muscular imbalances. It is an effective therapy during physical rehabilitation from accidents or injuries, including those incurred during car accidents and sports, and can strengthen the weakened muscles and help decrease recovery time.
Our clinic currently uses the vibeplate. Its benefits include improving sports performance, medical At Mui Chiropractic and Sports Medicine, vibration rehabilitation, and health and fitness. therapy is used to reprogram and rebuild

Testimonials
Dr. Mui did more to alleviate my back pain in just 8 visits the MD back specialists and a handful of other chiropractors could do in 8 years! Other chiropractors and MD’s told me to just use my back like I normally would and it would heal on its own. One physiatrist (back specialist) told me my condition would slowly worsen over time and would never heal. One back surgeon wanted me to pay him $4K to stretch my back on his DRX9000 machine. After years of back pain and frustration with not being able to get the help I needed, I found Dr. Mui. I only needed Dr. Mui’s dedication to his craft to heal my back. I feel as good now as I did before I injured my back!

I was experiencing trouble with tight hip joints and limited range of motion. I was recommended to Dr. Mui and experienced relief and considerable improvement after my first visit. I now am a returning patient for Tim Shaw and Dr. Adams. They have helped me through shin splints, a pulled tendon, SI joint and neck pain. You will be amazed at how quick and effective their methods are, and won’t be disappointed. They can help relieve such a wide variety of ailments! I recommend Dr. Mui and his team to everyone.

Went to Dr. Mui for an IT band issue that has been bothering me for the past several years from running. For most of the year, I was not able to complete a run longer than 2-4 miles, and I had signed up for a half marathon coming up in 1.5 months. Went to Dr. Mui on the recommendation of a friend, and that weekend I was able to run 7 miles. Continued to go to ensure the issue was fixed, and ran my fastest half marathon yet. He’s a great guy, very efficient, ask good questions, and very knowledgeable. I’d go back in a heartbeat and recommend anyone struggling with an injury to give him a visit. Its one of the best things I’ve done for my running!
I can not describe the amazing work the Dr. Mui and his team does to make sure I am always functioning at 100%. Since I started seeing Mui in 2012 he continually evolves his office to make sure that he has the best people available to make sure his patients have everything at his “one-stop-office”. Give Dr. Mui and his team a chance and you will not be disappointed.

Dr. Mui has a special gift of healing. I don’t think it is anything that can be taught per say, he just “knows”. He has healed our entire family for numerous injuries. We have two teenage sons that see Dr. Mui on a weekly basis for preventative care due to the fact that they abuse their bodies playing tennis 20+ hours/ week. If anything happens, we are able to get them in immediately. There have been tournaments that they would have had to withdraw from had it not been for Dr. Mui’s treatment. Our daughter(ballet) dislocated her knee and Dr. Mui was able to treat her and help her through the injury phase and beyond. He is very familiar with a dancer’s body as he has worked on the company dancers from Boston Ballet so I know that she is in good hands. The graston technique Dr. Mui uses on the muscles is incredible and I don’t know of anyone else that can do it. My husband is being treated for old injuries and he is seeing great improvement. We also use Tim for weekly deep tissue massage and Dr. Karen Adams has provided us with her physical therapy services. Dr. Mui’s office pretty much has it all. I cannot imagine our family being able to function in the way we do without Dr. Mui!! This is a wonderful office where we feel extremely comfortable and well taken care of! If anyone is considering surgery or is in daily pain, this is an option worth considering. I wish more people knew that Dr. Mui is someone who can help even when you think there is nothing that can be done. Dr. Mui really is a great guy.

Came here on a very high recommendation of a friend and have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the staff and treatment I have received. Everyone is very friendly and knows a great deal about what they are doing. I have significantly improved the pain and mobility in my shoulders and am able to continue taking part in the activities and sports I love.
