Spoil Dad with these Sweet Treats Show Dad how much you care by creating some indulgent treats for him to enjoy.
Caramel Popcorn This recipe for Caramel Popcorn is quick, easy and hard to get wrong‌. Ingredients Canola Oil (or similar) Popcorn Kernels 100 g butter ½ cup sugar 3 T Honey Baking Paper Method 1. Cover the bottom of the pan lightly in oil and put on high to heat. Test if the oil is hot enough by putting one popcorn kernel into it. If bubbles form around the kernel, add enough popcorn kernels to cover the base of the pot. Put the lid on and wait. Once you hear 2-3 kernels pop, turn the heat down to low-medium. Once the popcorn is made, pop it into a large bowl. 2. In another saucepan, add the butter, sugar and honey and put on medium-high heat to combine. I stirred while the honey and butter were melting. Once most of the butter is melted, leave the mixture to bubble and boil until golden brown. 3. Set up a tray lined with Baking Paper. 4. Pour the caramel over the popcorn and using a couple of spoon mix the popcorn and caramel around to coat all of the popcorn. 5. Add caramel popcorn to the Baking Tray and once hardened, you can snap the pieces into smaller chunks.
Easy Churros with Chocolate Churros are delicious and this recipe is quick and easy. Churros 1 cup plain flour 1 tsp baking powder Pinch salt 1 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 cup boiling water Cinnamon Sugar Coating ¼ cup sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon Melted Chocolate 1 Tbsp Thickened Cream (milk will also work) 100g chocolate Method: 1. Add flour, baking powder and salt to a large bowl. 2. Add olive oil and boiling water and stir together quickly mixing until the mixture is combined. It should be thick and doughy. 3. Place dough into a piping bag with a star tip nozzle and allow to cool down. If you don’t have a piping bag, simply roll the batter out into ‘sausage’ shapes. 4. In the meantime, heat oil in a pot. To test if the oil is hot enough, insert a wooden skewer into the oil and if bubbles form around it, the temperature is right. 5. Pipe lengths of the Churros dough into the oil, using scissors to cut it. Be careful not to drop the dough into the oil as it will splash. 6. Cook for a few minutes until golden. Use tongs to move around and turn if needed. 7. When cooked, using tongs, hold the churros up out of the oil to drain and then place onto Cinnamon Sugar plate. Using a different set of tongs, turn churros in the sugar and place on a new plate. 8. Once all churros are cooked, enjoy with your melted chocolate. Cinnamon Sugar: Combine sugar and cinnamon onto a plate with raised sides. Melted Chocolate Add milk and broken chocolate pieces into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second blocks, stirring after each one until the chocolate is melted and combined with the cream. P.S. The recipe makes around 15 Churros – which when shared in a big family wasn’t enough so we can to create another batch. I would recommend considering doubling the quantities and making one larger batch.

Here are our Favourite Set and Forget recipes sure to make Dads day even better.
Slow Cooked Pulled Beef This recipe makes a delicious pulled beef which can be eaten as is, as a burger, or as the sauce and meat for a Pasta Ragu. Ingredients • 1 kg Beef Silverside Roast • 1 tablespoon olive oil • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped • 1 onion chopped • ½ cup balsamic vinegar • 1 cup beef stock • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce • 2 tablespoons brown sugar • Salt & Pepper • 2 Sprigs Rosemary Method • In a large Pan, heat olive oil and brown chuck roast on both sides. Season meat with salt and pepper. Transfer to the slow cooker • Add garlic and onion to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes until soft. Add to the slow cooker. • In a bowl, add vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and sugar mixing together. Pour this mixture over the roast and add stock. Pull Rosemary off the spring and add to slow cooker. Turn meat around a few times to ensure it is well coated. • Cook in the slow cooker on high for 5 hours or low for 8. • Removed roast from slow cooker and shred the meat. Pour some of the leftover sauce onto the shredded beef. Mix and serve.

Red Wine Bolognaise This Bologniase is full of flavour and the children love it. This family recipe allows you to create Bologniase in bulk to freeze and store into smaller usable potions when required.
Ingredients: 1 Tsp Olive Oil 4 carrots, diced 2-3 onions, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 5-6 garlic cloves, chopped 1 kg beef mince ½ kg pork mince 300g double smoked bacon/speck, diced 1 Continental Beef Stock Cube (2 smaller cubes) with 1.5 cups water 2 cups red wine 3 x 400g diced tomato 1 can Polpa (finely chopped tomatoes between diced tomatoes and passata) 1 x tomato paste (140g) 1tsp dried thyme 1tsp dried oregano 1tsp ground coriander seeds 2-3 sprigs Rosemary 4 bay leaves Salt & Pepper Method: • Add oil, onion, carrot, speck/bacon, celery and garlic to a pan and cook for a few minutes to soften the onion. Remove from pan into a bowl. • Add mince to your slow cooker pan. Season with Salt and Pepper and brown. Once brown, add wine and cook for 2-3 minutes. • Return veggies to your mince. Add Herbs, Bay Leaves and stock. • Put into slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours. • Divide the Bolognaise into storage containers (around 500g into each) and freeze those you aren’t going to use straight away.
Greek Lamb Leg This Greek Lamb Leg in the slow cooker is simple and easy to prepare and is packed full of taste that your kids will love too.
Ingredients: 2kg lamb leg 2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary, cut into 1-2 cm sections 1 Tbsp Olive Oil 3 tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped 1 Tbsp of dried oregano (fresh is good too) 3 cloves garlic, crushed 2 lemons, zested and juiced 1 cup (250ml) beef stock 6-7 potatoes, whole or cubed Method: • Place potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker • Cut slits into the lamb leg on both sides, inserting the rosemary twigs into the leg. In a pot with a little olive oil, brown lamb leg on all sides. Remove from pot and place in the slow cooker on top of the potatoes. • Into a small bowl mix together Olive Oil, flat leaf parsley, coriander, oregano, garlic, lemon zest and lemon juice. Pour this on top of the lamb. • Add beef stock to the slow cooker around the leg to cover the bottom. • Turn onto slow and leave to cook for 8 hours. Alternatively turn on high for 2 hours and then low for another 4
