The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization working for a stronger and more effective United Nations. We are the largest international network of people who support and engage with the United Nations.

Established in 1946, WFUNA represent and coordinate a membership of over 100 United Nations Associations and their countless numbers of members and organizations. Alongside such network, WFUNA works to build a better world by strengthening and improving the United Nations through the engagement of people who share a global mindset and support international cooperation.

Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA) was established more than four decades ago to promote the objectives of the United Nations and its Specialized Agencies. It is a Non-Governmental, Voluntary, Non-Profit Organization working for International Peace and Understanding. IFUNA strives to focus its programs and activities around the vital concerns of the United Nations, like, Peace, International Understanding, Environment and Human Rights. IFUNA maintains close liaisons with Government Organizations, Press and Diplomatic Missions interested in United Nations activities. IFUNA has already created a niche for itself in the academic and social circles of the country through its varied and numerous activities like Lectures, Seminars, Symposiums, and Observance of UN Days, Debates, Competitions and Exhibitions on UN Subjects. IFUNA is affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations WFUNA. IFUNA is the only body to represent India in the UN Forums.

The World Federation of United Nations Association (WFUNA) is partnered with MUNCafé to co-host the inaugural session of WIMUN India in 2016. MUNCafé also makes WIMUN available for students in India, the Middle East and South Asia and brought close to 100 students to participate in WIMUN 2015, New York.

MUNCafé is a brand of Worldview Education which is founded and managed by professionals with many decades of cumulative experience in experiential education through simulations such as Model UN. MUNCafé, a Global Academic Simulations Platform designs, develops and delivers enriching Model UN experiences with a focus on personal, academic & professional development. Over 10,000 school students & young people from India, The USA, China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, the UAE, Oman, Malaysia, Columbia, Canada, Nepal and Singapore have participated in various learning programs & experiences facilitated by MUNCafé since 2009.

WFUNA INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN) is the world’s most accurate simulation of the United Nations and is the flagship Model UN conference hosted and organized by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). Located at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, WFUNA has worked closely with the UN Department of Public Information (UNDPI) to precisely simulate the United Nations in Model UN programs and provide students with the most realistic experience possible. The WIMUN conference features intensive training workshops delivered by UN officials, briefings on important agenda items by UN Agencies, and conference sessions at the UN Headquarters at the flagship conference in New York. WIMUN is one of the first Model UN to collaborate so closely with the UN and to implement official UNDPI Model UN platform “UN4MUN” on such a large scale. WIMUN is an opportunity for youth empowerment through civic engagement and understanding of relevant global issues. In 2016, the first regional conference of WIMUN will be held in Agra, India from April 28 - May 2, co-hosted by WFUNA, IFUNA and MUNCafé - a brand of Worldview Education Services Private Limited.

Most Accurate Simulation of the UN procedure

WIMUN India will be held in all the grandeur of Jaypee Palace Hotel and Convention Centre, Agra. The majestic venue overlooks the magnificent Wonder of the World, the Taj Mahal.

UN4MUN uses Rules of Procedure that reflect those used at the UN, choosing a leadership structure that more accurately mirrors the relationship between the UN GA and UN Secretariat, incorporating a negotiation process that aims to build consensus on the text of a draft resolution. This makes for the most accurate simulation of the UN Rules of Procedure.

Participation of more than 350 high school and university students from across 30 cities and territories in India and over 5 countries will ensure a truly global debate.

Every participating delegate has the opportunity to be a Committee Chair through a voting process which is inherent to the UN4MUN procedure and is a representation of the actual procedure at the UN!

In addition, experience intensive in-conference workshops, speaker sessions and training sessions on the UN4MUN Procedure.

Students will develop a strong global peer network that will introduce them to a plethora of new ideas, opinions and cultures.

Katherine Bonner, Secretary-General Katherine is a ten-year Model United Nations veteran from The USA. Her experience includes competing in and coordinating conferences, and training delegates in MUN procedure and skills. While attending Emory University, she served as the Director-General for its inaugural collegiate conference as well as the Secretary for its Model United Nations club. Beyond this, she has worked with Best Delegate in various training and media roles and UNA-USA in committee and conference leadership capacities. She recently served as Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management at WIMUN 2015 in New York and has been a trainer at WFUNA Youth Camp Korea 2016.
