Beautiful Joe Park 162 Edwin Street West

Made famous by author Margaret Marshall Saunders, Beautiful Joe Park commemorates the brave dog for which it is named. Situated along the Bighead River, this delightful, wooded 8.5 acre park celebrates canine friends, helpers and heroes, with memorials to service dogs, K9 teams and family pets.

Christie Beach Christie Beach Road, Thornbury
Christie Beach is one of the best family friendly sand beaches on this part of Georgian Bay. Located at the end of Christie Beach Road, off Highway 26 east of Meaford, this location has change rooms, washrooms, playground equipment and a picnic shelter. This property is operated by Grey Sauble Conservation Authority www.greysauble.on.ca.
David Johnston Park 125 Fuller Street
Located east of the Meaford Harbour the park features picnic tables, and accessible parking.
Fred Raper Park 207 Bayfield Street
Named after one of Meaford’s founding settlers, this park is a hub of waterfront activity minutes from Meaford’s downtown. Watch the waterfront from a bench, gazebo, or one of the many picnic tables. Dip your toes into the water along the smooth pebble beach, or drop your line in to fish along the shore.
Irish Mountain Lookout

Located in the hamlet of Leith, northeast of Owen Sound, Leith Beach is a small beach with beautiful views. The beach is not far from the boyhood home of renowned artist, Tom Thomson. It’s easy to see how the views from this beach inspired a young Tom Thomson as he would have spent many summers on this beach.
McCarrol Park 210 Parker Street East
Located across from Fred Raper Park and in close proximity to the Meaford Museum and Meaford’s downtown, this park offers lots of open green space, a splash pad, playground equipment, public washrooms and picnic tables. Pavilion rental is available.
Memorial Park 125 Grant Avenue
A favourite for locals and visitors alike! Although the high water has limited available space, this pebbly beach offers easy swimming access and a view of the iconic Three Sisters rock formation.
Peter Cameron Park Market Lane
Steps away from Leith Beach, this is a small park with playground equipment.
St. Vincent Park 269 Lakeshore Road
Offeres views of Georgian Bay, open play area and small beach.
Tennis Courts Eliza Street
There are two courts that are available on a first come basis.

Legion Park Legion Road
Located on the southeast corner of Owen Street and Legion Road along the Bighead River, the land was dedicated to the Municipality in the 1980’s from the Conservation Authority, and has been used since as a parking area for fishermen looking for that trophy catch!

Station Hill Park Sykes Street South
The first locomotive rolled into Meaford in 1872. Today, Station Hill commemorates the location of Meaford’s first train station, which stood nearby, and commands a scenic view of Meaford’s historic downtown. Visit Station Hill on the Big Red Chair tour.

Friends of the Meaford Library

The Friends of Meaford Library is an independent charitable organization of dedicated volunteers who are committed to helping the library and its staff provide our community with high quality library services and to promote the library and its interests. The Friends have been in existence since 1992 and in that time raised over $880,000 for the Library. New members and volunteers for the various activities of the Friends, including the Executive Committee, are always welcome.
