This public program invites the local community to participate in a series of walks –"A Walk to the Sea" – to discover Oeiras in its connection to the sea. Starting at 4:30 PM in the Marquês de Pombal Palace Garden, these guided walks by various experts provide a unique opportunity to explore and think together about the territory, its history, and its relationship with its aquatic ecosystems.
At the end of the day, you are invited to watch the environmental documentary "Mar Urbano Lisboa" at the Eunice Muñoz Municipal Auditorium. The documentary aims to raise awareness about the importance of the unique ecosystem of the Tagus River Estuary and engages in a broad discussion about water quality, marine biodiversity, the future of the city, and its surrounding metropolitan area. The Tagus is Lisbon's Sea: the river, the city, the people, the fish, the resources, the ecosystem, and marine biodiversity. This is a film in defence of the Tagus River, documenting the resilience of marine ecosystems, the evolution of water quality, and the conservation of different species of marine life typical of the Estuary, also influenced by climate change.

Bauhaus of the Seas Sails or Bauhaus do Mar is one of the 6 initial "Lighthouse Demonstrators" of the New European Bauhaus initiative, promoted since 2020 by the European Commission to promote the implementation of the Green Deal. It involves a consortium of 18 partners (municipalities, universities, and cultural institutions) in 7 European cities – Lisbon, Oeiras, Venice, Genoa, Hamburg, Malmö, and Rotterdam – to carry out pilot projects between 2023-25. Led by the Instituto Superior Técnico, Bauhaus do Mar has national partners: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Municipalities of Oeiras and Lisbon. Its goal is to create a series of pilot projects that experiment with new design models from a more-than-human perspective — shifting the focus from humans to promote an ecological relationship with various aquatic ecosystems: river, sea, lagoon, delta, or other watercourses. In short, the sea as a space for creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Between September 26 and 29, Bauhaus do Mar will hold its first gathering in Oeiras.

CARLOS NOGUEIRA EXHIBITION "WATER. AND HOME IS THE WORLD"
Palácio Anjos, Algés
Artist Carlos Nogueira (Mozambique, 1947) presents the exhibition "Water. And Home Is the World" at Palácio Anjos until December 29th. The articulation between architecture, construction, territory, landscape, and nature, mediated through everyday objects and the senses and perceptions of the body, organizes the selected body of works that can be seen. The sculptures, paintings, and drawings on display, chosen from a broad chronology dating back to the 1980s, including new and unpublished works, show great attention to the behaviour of materials and the performativity of the gestures that shape them. The exhibition is curated by Catarina Rosendo and the catalogue will feature a text by the curator and an essay by Marta Sequeira. It will be launched during the exhibition on a date to be announced.

LAB IN A BOX EXHIBITION – FUTURE WITH SCIENCE
Quinta dos Sete Castelos Garden, Santo Amaro de Oeiras
The "Lab in a Box - Future with Science" Exhibition comprises a total of nine panels illustrated with posters presented at the 1st Lab in a Box Meeting - Oeiras by teachers who participated in the certified training of this educational project by IGC. The exhibition will be on display until November 30, 2023, in the Quinta dos Sete Castelos Garden, an emblematic public space from an environmental and heritage perspective. It will showcase some of the scientific experiments that have been conducted in the classroom from primary to secondary education and in science clubs, with the ultimate goal of stimulating the development of critical thinking and scientific curiosity in participating children and young people.
