For this evening on the Literarium stage, poetry enthusiasts have the chance to encounter one of the very best contemporary Hungarian poets. However, he is also someone whose artistic presence on the literary scene is nowhere near as substantial as it could be. This is only partly due to Ferenc Szijj’s autonomous working style, and his tendency to withdraw into the background and refrain from presenting anything of himself in his work. Critics also appear to shy away from forming adequate interpretations of his densely woven, unique and incomparable poetic world, which eliminates all that is superfluous.

A Giselle a 19. századi romantikus balett stílusteremtő remekműve, népszerűsége a mai napig töretlen, címszerepe minden balerina álma. Az 1841-ben bemutatott darab Adolphe Adam muzsikájával hódította meg a világot. A produkció valódi kuriózum – a Győri Balett előadásában e misztikus, egyszerre gyönyörű és borzongató történet ezúttal Lajkó Félix zenéjével kel új életre.

A bemutató a Bartók Tavasz keretében a Győri Balettel és a Fonó Budai Zeneházzal közös programként, a Müpa szervezésében valósult meg.

Giselle is the genre-defining ballet of the 19th century romantic period. Its popularity remains unbroken to this day and the title role is every ballerina’s dream. Premièred in 1841, the work conquered the world with the music of Adolphe Adam. The production is a genuine treat – the Ballet Company of Győr takes us through this mystical story that is in equal turns beautiful and horrifying, revitalised by the music of Félix Lajkó.

The première was presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with the Ballet Company of Győr and the Fonó Music Hall as part of the Bartók Spring.

Palya Bea 2014-es Nő című lemeze inspirálta, indította útjára 2015-ben a „Selymeim” – Énekesnők a nagyvilágból című sorozatát a Müpában, amelynek keretében közös koncertre invitál számára fontos, ám a magyar közönség számára talán még kevésbé ismert „dalos-tündéreket, zenész-amazonokat”. Kurd (Çiğdem Aslan), zöld-foki szigeteki (Mayra Andrade), norvég (Beate S. Lech) és iráni gyökerű, de Törökországban élő (Michal Elia Kamal) énekesek után ezúttal az észt folklórt anyanyelveként beszélő Mari Kalkun a vendég.

Bea Palya’s 2014 album Nő (‘Woman’) is what inspired and launched the “My Silks” – Divas From Around the World series at Müpa Budapest in 2015. On each occasion, she invites “singing fairies and amazon musicians” who are important to her but perhaps less familiar to the Hungarian audience to a joint concert. After sharing the stage with a Kurd (Çiğdem Aslan), a Cape Verdean (Mayra Andrade), a Norwegian (Beate S. Lech) and an artist of Iranian origin now based in Turkey (Michal Elia Kamal) she has now invited a guest who speaks Estonian folklore as her mother tongue: Mari Kalkun.
