Dear viewers, We would like, even during this extraordinary situation, for our fantastic audience to still be able to encounter the world's most outstanding and thrilling artists each evening – in the safety of their own homes. We believe that there are no limits to the "Müpa Budapest experience", which is why we decided to unlock our media library for everyone over the weeks to come and – each night at the familiar times: 7 pm, 7.30 pm or 8 pm, depending on genre – open Müpa Budapest's virtual concert hall by providing access to an unforgettable performance from past years, which we'll transmit on our website, our Facebook page and our YouTube channel. What is more, as a member of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) and in the spirit of international solidarity, we will also be streaming concerts on our Facebook page from different prestigious concert halls around Europe, from Lisbon and Hamburg to London – trusting that this will make evenings at home more pleasant. Take good care, and let's continue to stick together!

The Lőrinc Barabás Quartet: Lőrinc Barabás – trumpet Zoltán Cséry – piano, keyboards • Attila Herr – bass guitar • Zsolt Nagy – drums Guest: Takuya Kuroda – trumpet For this concert to showcase The Lőrinc Barabás Quartet’s latest album, a very special guest, Takuya Kuroda joined the group. The Japanese trumpet player, who also promoted his recently-released album, blends flashes of jazz, post-bop, neo-soul, hip-hop and electronica, and his joint performance with Lőrinc Barabás turned out to be an incredibly exciting musical encounter. This recording was made at a concert held at Müpa Budapest on 21 March 2018.

Since then the annual Marathon has become a red-letter day for music lovers, a day when they can wallow in popular works by their favourite composer at their leisure, where everyone can truly find a programme to suit their tastes. The “hero” of the 2015 Marathon was Igor Stravinsky. This recording was made at a concert held at Müpa Budapest on 7 February 2015.

MVM CONCERTS – THE PIANO

Piano recital with Gergely Bogányi 2 May 2020, Saturday, 7.30 pm

Gergely Bogányi’s repertoire includes more than 30 piano concertos, as well as a significant share of the piano literature, including all of Chopin’s compositions for solo piano. In 2000, he won the Liszt Award, and in 2004 he received the Kossuth Prize. He was made an honorary citizen of Vác, the town of his birth, in 1996, of Zebegény in 2007, and of Budapest in 2016. The year 2015 saw the development, based on an idea of Bogányi’s and in collaboration with him, of a new concert piano: the Bogányi Piano. This recording was made at a concert held at Müpa Budapest on 17 November 2016.
