Telescoping of natural and urban zones; rhythmics verging on industrial or diving into liquid air; deep bass lines shaking ecstatic drifts “Aftermath” aims to be a series of sound photographies of our "beautiful" world in complete rotation. Peace, it seems, becomes precarious, some are trying to achieve it. This limited edition project from Aes Dana is composed as a seven movements spacey and downtempo tale. Beware! This release is only
available via the website. There will be 300 copies (digipack quality, just like the other releases) of this limited edition. No reprinting. A serial number certificate will be delivered with each copy. www.ultimae.com

Your history? With influences from industrial and electronic music I soon discovered techno in the mid nineties. After attending several parties I started to spend all my money on records and soon got some small gigs in Gothenburg. Slowly I started to get in to the groovy sounds and found my style of music. Nowadays I work with Spiral Trax Label Group and have been playing on parties, festivals and clubs all over Europe. My function in the label is taking care of the graphical

Biodegradable / CPU After the release of Biodegradables first album, Dr Sam, Nikka and Max decided to explore new directions through solo and side projects. Dr Sam started Central Processing Unit which is a deep footprint in the heart of the party, raging clear cutting edge production that takes the dance floor into a new level of sonic constructions. Nikka as well gets his personal vision on tracks with Mekkanikka, a full on morning groove boosted sound with pure acidic energy. Irresistible groove and infinite emotions seem to be the trade mark of Mekkanikka, whose first releases got a lot of attention. First album will be out on Spirit Zone this autumn as well. Max Peterson, the third producer of the project, is working with Davina Elmosnino under the name of Sirius Isness since last year. The first tracks will be out on Mechanick Sound, Neurobiotic and Shiva Space Japan forthcoming releases. Full on morning blast made for dancers to enjoy themselves, it is confirming that it is all about inovation and real intense psychedelic dance floor experience. www.biodegradable.cc

Big Deal became possible since Jonas (Tranan) moved from Stockolm to Gothenburg and joined Anthony Sillfors in the studio to make a track. Big Deal blends the melodic morning melodies from S>Range and the energetic killer grooves from Tranan in a blasting sci-fi hypnotic trance music. Besides Big Deal, Anthony Sillfors is also working on a new S>Range album that should be released early next year. Anthony is very excited about being in the studio since the Cubase SX was released and he moved for a new venue with better acoustics and structures. www.s-range.com

He comes from Cape Town, South Africa and 0riginally he had no idea what psy trance was. He’d been writing and playing various styles of music, including rock and jazz before finally settling on big beat and nu skool breaks. He was studying with Gareth Tacon (one of Nano's owners) and he heard some of my tunes before passing them on to Regan. Basically, He got a message back sayin that they liked it but they wanted something more psychedelik. The next day he got hold of some psy trance CDs (Juno Reactor and Atmos were among them), he listened to them and then he wrote his first trance track. He’s been totally hooked ever since ...
Jojo: What was your favorite party experience? Protoculture: The total solar eclipse at the Vortex/Etnica Net Eclipse festival. The energy on the dance floor was incredible. It was unreal. Jojo: Are you a dancer or a side watcher? Protoculture: A bit of both really. It's hard not to concentrate on what's being played when you're writing music yourself,
you kind of just stand there and pull the music to pieces. I do, however, love to make an absolute fool of myself and go crazy on the floor. It's what the whole experience should be about, just enjoying yourself.
Jojo: Where did the name Protoculture come from? Protoculture: When I was a kid there used to be an old Anime cartoon series called "Robotech" on television. Protoculture was some or other "alien" word for human love and emotion. It had a nice ring to it. Let’s get into the nitty gritty. Jojo: How do you make your music? What equipment do you use? What process do you go through to create your sound? Protoculture: My studio setup at the moment consists of a Mackie 16-channel desk, a Roland VS-880 (used mostly for live), a Waldorf XTK, Freebass FB-383 analogue synth, a Roland XV-5050, Steinberg MIDIex, and a PC running Cubase SX. The hardware is all really cool but I've been using a lot more software lately. Most of the time I'll start with some atmospheric
stuff and a loop with some percussion and then just jam, tweak a fiddle until I've got some interesting sounds and melodies. I'll often start numerous tracks like this before incorporating bits of all of them in to the finished product. The final arrangement I'll generally do as quickly as possible from beginning to end, that way I sort of keep the feeling I had when I started throughout the track.
Jojo: Where do you draw your inspiration? Protoculture: I've got a bit of a Jazz/Classical background, so I guess that's where the melodic stuff comes from. Otherwise, some earlier influences would include the prodigy (probably what got me started in electronic music) the Crystal Method and Hybrid. Logic Bomb always been one of my favourite psy trance acts, but pretty much anything with a bit of feeling and motion turns me on. Living in Cape town is also inspiration. It's amazingingly beautiful out here. Jojo: How long do you work on a track? Protoculture: It varies, some time it can take as long as a month before I'm happy with something, usually when when

the physical sounds, FX and production is concerned. With regards to actually arranging the track writing most of the melodies and stuff, I'll sometimes just click and then finish a tune in a day.
Jojo: Is all the sound made by you or are you using samples? Protoculture: I've got a couple of sample disks which I used quite regulary, mostly for FX stuff. Nowadays I experiment a lot more. I'll often get DVD's and take any arbitary clip and pitch bend and add effects for hours until I get something interesting. With regards to the synth patches, I'm a pretty capable programmer, so I'll use my own sounds most of the time.
Jojo: Where do you see yourself in the future? Protoculture: I'd like to keep doing Psy Trance for quite a while. I get a really good feeling from it. Eventually I'd like to get into doing soundtracks for film and television. Jojo: Do you make enough money off the music to live comfortably? Protoculture: Not really at the moment. I've had to do other odd jobs here and there to get by sometimes, although I'm only just breaking into the scene now so hopefully things will pick up soon. I do believe, however, that when you do something you love, it will eventually take care of you. Jojo:
Jojo:
What is your favo-
rite synth?
Protoculture: I used to use a
You are going to be in
JP8000 a lot. I love that synth for its simplicity and richness in sound. At the moment though my favourites are software like the Linplug Albino Spectrasonics Atmosphere and any Native Instruments stuff.
Jojo: I know you have an album in the works. What can we expect from that and when is it going to be released? Protoculture: The release date looks set and i think you should get it now. What to expect? Well, definitely more fluffy and melodic morning tunes. I've had problems trying to put tracks together for the album because I was trying to get everything in a similar sort of style and production, but what I've decided on now is to just use the stuff that makes me happy. I feel I've poured a lot of my own personality in to this. Basically, the album will be a collection of music which makes me shake it up on a dance floor, and hopefully others will feel the same way.
Europe this summer. Playing anywhere special? Protoculture: So far the confirmed gigs include
9
Glastonbury festival (25-30 June), and unnamed party near Cornwall, and the Liquid Connective's Little Green Planet (three day party, from the 22 August). I will be playing alongside the likes of Tristan, Shpongle, Psycraft, Sesto Sento, Infected Mushroom and more. Should be killer. Would also like to get to Greece and possibly Portugal, but nothing is confirmed out that way yet. Booking Protoculture: protoculture@nanorecords.co.uk or info@nanorecords.co.uk

„We gear towards the multi-dimensional, the fantasy, the wonderland“ Cyber Quest are Rania Webber (28), Adam Ryan (30) and Nicole Hill (27). Since 1997 they work as artists, decorators, and event designers. They design special events ranging from raves and nightclubs to fashion shows, private parties, small concerts, corporate galas, and home interiors. They produce illuminated stage sets, large 3d mosaic mirror objects, spandex forms, and a plethora of other decor. USA- Washington DC mainly is their base, but they have done shows and clubs from Philadelphia to Ohio and all the way down to Miami. They want to come to Europe!! Their style is hard to classify. They gear towards the multi-dimensional, the fantasy, the wonderland. Much of their work, however has been coined with the term "modern-tribal" or "techno-art". Sometimes they design very
modern and simple. Sometimes they design very tribal. And most of the time, they infuse the two. So much of their artwork is based from spiritual and tribal beliefs, but they do the majority of their work in hi-tech atmospheres, using lasers, intelligent lighting, and LED illumination. It really is the perfect medium. For the decor forms, Cyber Quest use woods, bamboo, plexi-glass, spandex, mirrored glass, 16.4 million color LED strips, and of course very heavy duty motors. „Us inspire Music, Spirituality, the audio-visual experience, rave culture, house culture, graphic design, European interior design, Chromopark and their famous techno-art exhibitions from the early 90's, and last but not least, the Universe and all it's splendor.“

„We are specialized in creating lightstructures“ „Our intension is to motivate people to discover new worlds by using their own interpretations of our work.
The members of Sehnsedahastes are J Ralle, Jensen and Andi from Halle (Saale)/Eastern-Germany. Decorations for parties and other kind of events in and around germany have been created since 1999. Being specialized in creating lightstructures they are decorating every kind of event in artful psychedelic ways. Playing with the magic of visualization, they are using blacklighted string art, geometric bodies, sculptures, furthermore lighting installations, projections and much more.
Inspired by our own kind of view, we are trying to style rooms and areas in surprising ways, one has never seen before. Working with lots of different materials and colours, we are providing a special, deep atmosphere for nearly all kind of happenings. Even big festivals have been equiped by us. One of our highlights is the „evolutionary pattern“. We call it this way, cause parts of our installations are living with the event. By using effects depending on the actual atmosphere. See our website for further details and pictures of our work.“ Contact: Sehnsedahastes www.sehnsedahastes.de info@sehnsedahastes.de

„We connect big muppets with blacklight art“
The Sehstörung exists since more than six years with this label and contains a theatre of extraordinary big muppets. During that time they also built a lot decoration stuff. Have had some funny or critical events on partys, otherwise they are engaging in the political scene. They have not just been at a lot of small and middlesized partys. Also joined big festivals like the fusion a couple of times. Once and never again the Shiva Moon, and also for several times the VooV. There they met the most nice trancers.
They all live in Leipzig, and now they`ve found a new club to present their shows and performances regulary. From now on the craziest club in Saxonia, BimboTown has a new ghost train build by Sehstörung. The height of the muppets varies from 2,20 m up to 6 m. They get alive by the heard beat of six to twelve acters. They nearly play the whole set: serious dramas (self-made), anarchistic muppetshows, childrens theatre, performances, improve and interacting theatre involving the visitors, and much more ... „Even if we are very fixed on our own style to connect the big muppets with blacklight art, we are open for inspirations from any direction.I would define as our historical model and political roots, the theatre group "Bread and Puppets" which acted in the 70`s. The most obvious thing "Bread and Puppets" tried, not just to play a critical theory but already to live it. Our last inspirations we got from artists and trancers on PsyTrance Parties.“

PLANET REPORT
While Winter and Clublife begins in the historical trance countries in the northern hemisphere of our planet – summer is starting in new trance breeds like Brasil, South Africa and Australia. What could be better then spending the summer in sunny europe and the winter in hot Brasil – beeing together with likeminded and catching some of the best festivals of our culture! This article serves as a guide to the southern hemisphere. A snapshot of it’s current trance scenes. An outlook to the coming season! Creating this article we were trying to get local activists report on their scene to have representive inside-views. The participation was minimal – obviously not much people are interested to spread the word about what’s going on in their country. If you see this different we’d be happy if you want to contribute scene reports to this dynamic and evolving article in Chaishop and mushroom Online. Please write to sam@chaishop.com or liese@chaishop.com Meeting the space availability in intershroom Magazine we needed to cut out some passages. Find the complete article online at www.Chaishop.com and www.intershroom.com (and please search information on Parties in this regions on the partypages earlier in this magazine)
Argentina Text: Sam@Chaishop.com Having an eletronic music scene for a long time now also trance seems to settle in Argentina. There are occasional parties happening and people starting to produce music. A bigger festival is in the planing for NYE.

MARK LUCKEY / AUSTRALIA
I know of does this in the world and their name and ideas are eco friendly and very kool!! I’ll mention Melbourne based organisation Tranceplant, if in Oz show your support. The biggest Psy related promoters in Melbourne would be Earthcore. They put on ten or so parties a year with at least two big outdoor Doofs. They celebrate their tenth anniversary this November with a typically huge bill including Hallucinogen. Although claiming to have veered away from ‘psy trance’ and now include many other styles, they still have acts that appeal to lovers of psychedelic culture. The premier trance specific party is Green Ant’s Rainbow Serpent Festival on Australia Day long weekend in January. With two stages the festival provides full bore trance on one, and a more eclectic range of sounds on the other. Tribeadelic do a New Year’s party that’s earned an excellent reputation, it caters for someone wanting a complete psychedelic party experience. The Byron Bay/ Lismore region
Australia (or just Oz) is an incredibly diverse country with almost every kind of geography and nationality represented somewhere. It is a vast landmass, mostly comprising desert regions With major cities on the coast, except the Capital Canberra and all located in the more fertile and temperate regions. Travellers should find it very easy to have a great time in Oz. The cost of living is low and most people are very friendly and helpful. Be prepared for vast distances – you will need to have a car if you are to attend many outdoor parties. If planning a long stay buy a car then sell it on leaving the country. As by far the cheapest!! As far as trance is concerned the southern state of Victoria has a culture of huge outdoor events over the summer, November to March, you can enjoy any number of events. Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria which is not a bad place to get started. Most outdoor events will be staged two to three hours drive away. Firstly just because SALLY GREEN / AUSTRALIA no where or one else
SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE has seen many great parties and has an excellent familylike underground scene. None rival the scale of the big Melbourne events but you may want to check out www.demon tea.com. New Years has seen it’s biggest partys organised in the past with the likes of Exodus. The advantage of Byron is that the weather is just so good and the vibe is very relaxed. Byron is now a major Tourist spot so if that’s not your thing you may want to head for the hills. Sydney is arguably the most ‘fun’ city. It is packed with interesting features and seems to party 24 hours a day, however the music tends to be a lot more mainstream, although there are trance related events. Still it’s worth checking out. Other places parties are being thrown are Brisbane, the North coast (1-2 hrs north of Syd.), Perth and now even up in the tropics in and around Cairns (launch place to see the Great Barrier Reef or up north to the Daintree Forrest) outdoor partys are being held. If you can commit to a few month there is no doubt that you’ll get some huge party experiences and have a lot to do. The summer weather makes most things a breeze and our exchange rate means that most nationalities find it cheap.

Brasil Text: Sam@Chaishop.com Brasil – the paradise that occupies nearly half of South America, where only the Amazon area produces one-tenth of the world’s oxygen and contains one-fifth of the world’s fresh water. Brasil – paved with waterfalls, forests and beaches as beautiful as the Brasilians. Brasil – a perfect location for a trancer’s holiday … Trance in Brasil is in it’s high! Parties in the megapolis Sao Paulo (fighting with Mexico City about the second place in the biggest-cities rating of the world) happen seven days a week. Open Air Festivals happen every weekend in locations one couldn’t ima-

gine more beautiful. International Artists are constantly around – because Brasil and Brasilians are irresistable. Local Artists are emerging everywhere in highly respected quality. DJs like Rica, Gabe (Wrecked Machines), M.A.C.K., Tati and Swarup already played around the world. All sounds great but looking behind the scenes also in Brasil it’s not that easy. Only wealthy Brasilians can afford the parties (like in Mexico) and even those are struck by the general economic crisis striking hard on Brasil with devaluation of the local currency, the Real. There are too much parties happening for the still-small scene (open air parties range from 200-4000 people) and expectations to lineups are high (since international artists are often around and play for small fees without charging travel expenses). Most of the open air party organisers currently make loss with their parties. The club owners have it a bit better – the drink prices are high. Like Mexico also in Brasil Trance is developing too fast thus drawing strange people in the scene and developing too commercial parties. Brasilians start to select the parties they visit more thoroughly and on these “inscene” parties – that sometimes last for 3-5 days – expect great vibe and unforgettable experiences! Trance in Brasil has found it’s capital with Sao Paulo. Here clubs
22 like Klatu, Freak-a-delic, A-Club, Shakti and others get you connected. In Galleria D’Ouro Fino you can buy trancer’s needs and meet the scene in the daytime. Clubbing around the week is no problem and once started it’s hard to stop. In many other brasilian cities like Belo Horizonte, Rio, Curitiba or Goiania trance is rather small but developing. Alto Paraiso (State Goias) and Trancoso (State Bahia) developed trance resorts with a big attraction to nature loving international trancers. The open air festivals happen everywhere between these named places – watch out for flyers and announcements on the websites. Tourist-wise locations are the state Bahia for beaches, the Amazon for the ultimate rainforest experience, Foz de Iguaçu for the widest waterfalls in the world, Salvador for black music culture, the state Minas Gerais for gold and silver mining cities and beautiful landscapes, the state Pantanal for wildlife, Sao Paulo and Rio for the brasilian citylife and many many more … Keep in mind that distances are massive and you better choose an area to travel before you start your holidays!

PLANET REPORT Costa Rica Text: DJ Prophet, DJ Brealey, Sam @ Chaishop.com Since the late-nineties, groups of older European trance-heads and DJs from far away places like India, came to this peaceful paradisiacal spot in Central America, Costa Rica. These foreigners settled down in natural magical places like Montezuma and Tamarindo where our scene grew up. They shared their culture and good vibes, showing us a completely new way to dance and feel the music. People began to gather in hidden natural places experiencing the

joys of trance, nature, unity and sense of respect among all. Also DJs shared their music with the local kids, some of whom now are well-known national DJs and producers that had done a huge contribution toward the evolution of our scene. So, year-by-year our trance community keeps growing and flowing with much better organizations, outdoors parties and now twisted live-acts. Parties with international artists are happening occasionally, mainly close to San Jose, the capital. Costa Rica appears to be a paradise spot for international trance festivals. The ecological diversity given to us by this country is incredibly amazing … you can choose between volcanoes all around, tropical humid forests to breath the best air ever, exuberant beaches from both Pacific and Caribbean sides to
choose from, among many other beautiful hidden things. Anyhow the trance scene is still quite small and tourism all around the country is dominated by US-Americans. So it will probably take some time until these types of festivals can develop. If you plan to visit us soon in Costa Rica and want to get in full contact with our electronic music scene and culture, you must definitely arrive in a strongly way every Wednesday from 9:00pm in ahead to the Disco-bar El Yos in San Jose. There we assure to you, extreme discharge doses of psychedelia in our highly acclaimed Global Trance Sessions. This is the local scene on its maximum expression and the way to have access to the real special underground parties that happens when you less expect it. See ya´ all here... PURA VIDA!

… seems to have switched with the usually so typical summer in Germany. Europe instead is enjoying tropical temperatures whereas in Japan many festivals literally got drowned. The big difference is that Japanese rains can be much more dramatic. You get to realize all the time that you are on an island and the weather can change the opposite within minutes. On top of all that there is the typhoon… In the Tokyo city area this tropical storm doesn’t appear much different from a strong wind with a lot of rain. In the festival locations though, Japans most beautiful natural ressorts, it shows no mercy! For the first time, I was able to witness that during Arcadia’s "Summer Arcade Festival”. The "calm before the storm” is a very typical and exciting moment, just before it starts in full force. We were able to be part of our tents. Soon after it started to rain horizontally and the trees were bending to the ground, we had to abandon our flooded tents and escape to the wooden production hut … After about an hour it became quiet again but after it starts again you realize it wasn’t the end of the storm but we were in "the eye of the typhoon”, a breathtaking moment of untouchable forces of nature. As fast as the typhoon appears, it disappears again and in the morning we were able to enjoy one of the hottest days of the year with great artists

like Talamasca, Nomad, Absolum, Dado and more. Now the summer finally seems to develop to its usual manner. Just in time for Anoyo’s Art-TranceFestival on Sado Island, one of Japan’s most beautiful islands. Anoyo is a very extraordinary, highly appreciated and eccentric organisation with a very high standard in art. I feel very honored to be booked to make Matthias’ Lightmotiv projections and DJ alongside with some of the best local artists like "Lunatic Thunder”(!!!), Tsuyoshi and DJ Bryan Burton-Lewis. The "journey” continues middle of September with the Vision Quest Gathering. This summer definitely the biggest trance party in Japan after Solstice surprisingly decided to not to do their famous summer festival this year. The preparations are reaching their maximum level and the line up leaves nothing to be desired. Besides the famous Vision Quest
artist collective of Infected Mushroom, Skazi, Astrix, Dino and new featured artists we can look forward to ManWithNoName’s long awaited comeback in Japan. The now worldwide available DVD about the last years gathering gives a good impression about the Trance dimensions possible in Japan. Also this year’s gathering will be available on DVD this time with animations from Geko from Austria who has been doing this for more than 15 years and many consider him to be one of the best. Release date will hopefully be before Christmas… C U then!

Vibrasphere „Lime Structures Remixes“ (Digital Structures) 2x12“ On the A side the amazing Son Kite remix- tons of feel, enough hypnotic trancey monotony generated from sounds and not only kick-bass, and the kind of melody and sounds that grabs the heart and squeezes all the emotional juice out. Then Vibrasphere give their own version, a clubby caressing one that doesn't really do it to me, though the percussion work is moving, and the melody is still beautiful. The second offers 2 very different remixes to Purple Floating- both excellent. First we get to hear Cosma, ioffers a bit of a different angle on Vibrasphere with a powerful and explosive track that is guaranteed to shake dancefloors, from the inside and outside. Then Tarek Mansur, , gives us a totally different interpretation with a hypnotic progressive caressing yet grabbing excellent remix. A Must for every DJ, any track here will shake ppl totally in the right moment, and they. (Shahar - isratrance.com)
Protoculture "Refractions" (Nano Records) CD There are some musicians you are following for a while, waiting for the moment, when they are finishing the path of learning and start banging. Nate Raubenheimer aka Protoculture is definetly on the bang side now, bringing us many masterpieces, letting many eyes on planet begin to glow. After his debut 2001 on Spiral Trax and two major league tracks on the last nanorecords compilations, Protoculture filled the floor with his amazing live performance. Now he attempts to conquer our living room and he will, oh yes he will. One thing is equal to all tracks, their huge amount of energy, never giving you the chance to stand still. My personal winner in
this pack of highpsydelity trancedance art is definetly Also the 'Melody Machine' should not be unmentioned here, cause of it's pushing baseline, funky percussions and strong but warm Trancevoices. Especialy this song activates the most smiling energy, with well gated oldschool Psylines and an innovativ arrangement. (Sam - Twelve Monkies)
V.A. "Clarity" (Nano Records) CD Here it is, the third compilation of Nano Records, based in South Africa and the UK. Just in time they present us sound of the shifting seasons, playable on the last Festivals this year and will be often heard on forthcoming indoor parties. A crossing selection of different styles, lazy-funky Acidlines on the one Hand, progressive Full-on on the other. Logic Bomb and Vatos Locos doin the hiptwisting groove, Commercial Hippies and Rinkadink strong and funky, Hydrophonic atmospheric ass-shaking, Triptych with an massive crowdmover and in the progressive psy-full-on corner Cyan, Protoculture and Tristan vs. The Electric Ant. All of the Tracks have one common direction, Full-on into the sun, marvellous Atmospheres are opening their gates and are inviting the crowd to stay, dance and explore their deeps. Especialy the Commercial Hippies with their debut 'Where dreams Come from' can be proud of their production, real psy-trance
at its best and we will surely hear more of them soon. All songs come with a brilliant mastering and well choosen, making this compilation aperfect tool for every dancefloor as well as the user at home. (Sam - Twelve Monkies)
PPS Project „AC vs. DC“ (Hadshot) CD At all times the PPS Project from Samuel Wallerstein and Felix Nagorsky from Israel has been linked to The Delta or respectively to the technoid Part of X-Dream. But if you are not the inventor of such a sound, you always have to deal with being called a copyist. That’s definitely not easy. However, Sam and Felix haven’t been mislead and continued perfecting that – and also their – style. With „AC vs. DC“ they present an album, wich covers the whole spectrum of Tech-Trance within 10 tracks; creativity and production at it’s best. After an industrial grounding, the second Track „Complex“ is already a big hit with it’s cool groove, the following film touches everything between rather industrialdark Trance („Metal Crawl“) and straight Techno with „Bitch slap“ or „Solar Mode“ and switches over from broken Freestyle („Datafreestorm“) up to the morninglike-hypnotic „Fiberoptica“.. (kai - mushroom)
Mekkanikka „Basic Tribal Pattern“ (Spirit Zone) CD Nicholas Oesch now gets the deserved attention with his first solo-album "Basic Tribal Pattern". As a former part of Biodegradable / CPU the man from San Francisco has his musical bakkground basicly in the second wave of FullOn but with his new project he's working with more own concept and finesse. The album is a pyrotechnic trance-
MUSIC REVIEWS work; sounds as sharp as shaving blades are changing with smooth modulation to expand the space of listening and dance experience. "Basic Tribal Pattern" is in whole the virtue and the sense of Acid Trance packed in a modern fascinating form. The album starts fat, comes with a real hit with "War" und changes its attention to slimmer and even more progressive structures. So it's not that hyper cool monochrome oneway production we know as Neo FullOn, it's an all time surprising and kikkin' dance album with tracks for nearly all day and night times and all audiences. Enjoy for example, the powerful morning track "Out There", which is a morph from a Hitchcock soundtrack into a stomping Disco-Trance tune. Mekkanikka is "back and forth", a real psychedelic discovery. (kai - mushroom)
V.A. „Ease Division 2“ (Spiral Trax) CD There we have the second part of the „Downbeat Grooves From The Scandinavien Shores“, but somehow it’s really different. According to the statement of the labelmanager, the first part sold fantastic... for me, that whole, the first Ease Division was just a mix of top-heavy Dub and ultra-dry Downbeat, not much more than an instruction for finger twippin'... (hope, nobody will kill me for that..). I hardly missed some music in the sense of melodic power, as a stimulus for imagination. Well, but now... as if the whole story has been twisted, Vibrasphere present an pure and beautiful „San Pedro“-remix, filled up with Robert Leiner’s and Dennis Matenda’s finest grooves and melodies. With „Compressed Universe“ Solar Fields’ Magnus Bigersson slips lightful and delicious into a nearly danceable groove and Michael finishes by
himself with a new ambient bliss as Healer. The CD is not that flow– or film-orientated, it rather offers great single tracks, wich you can listen in order of course, too. (kai - mushroom)
Carbone Based Lifeforms “Hydroponic garden” (Ultimae Records) CD From Sweden, exactly from Göteborg, one of the centers for fine tunes comes this brilliant release of this young ambient project. Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Ringström are the guys behind it and after there teasing tracks on MPDQX and Ultimae they are now here with there debut album. With this 9th release on Ultimae, the Team around Sunbeam & Vince, shows us again that they have a very fine nose for excellent ambient releases. The album is filled with warm, melodic space ambient and it invites you to laid-back journey into relaxation. Its far more than just an arrangement of tunes and sounds, for me it feels like a fluffy, diversified and in it self harmonious movie which you can magnificently enjoy. They are building a landscape of sound in front of our spiritual eyes, building bridges between nature and urban sounds, sometimes spacey sometimes fantastic, arrange in a strong wave which takes me away to a holiday for my mind. (liese)
Star X „Prepare To Fly“ (Com.Pact) CD To be honest, I'm not really fair in my reviews everytime and I like to put the level for musicians which came up with first brilliant tracks at a very high position. In my view
27
Eran Hennenberg is able to combine full power and maximum warmth, intense energy and - at the same time - the smooth side of life, so to say - the Yin and the Yang into one trackHis story is the story of flying, the story of the dance experience, to sever from ground, to feel and get in Trance. So "Preprare To Fly" is a fat filled pack of dance music for a Trance floor, uplifting, energetic, positive, but also demanding and enthusiastic; DJs will love "Prepare To Fly". The only track where Eran is taking this step further, is "Shooting Stars", an incredible vocal track with a soulful, nearly pop-like attitude, that remains on lightful moments in slow tracks from Oforia. With its tricky starting bass line und the emotional build up it's a pearl of a track - besides the usual way to produce Trance. A little bit sad in my view, that Eran did't show the courage to work more in this direction. But, "Prepare To Fly" will be for sure one of the best dance albums of this autumn. (kai - mushroom)
Overlords „Gods Eye On Goa“ (Hadshot) 12" In the follow up to Vernon's "Wanderer" remixes Hadshot will bring a new remix pearl. In the year 94, as there was no developed Psy-Trance label scene yet and KoxBox were an act at Frankfurt based label Harthouse, Frank E und Ian Ion gave their Overlords production "Gods Eye" via Sven Väth into the hands of Michael Kohlbecker, who should give that track the typical "FrankfurtGroove". His "Gods Eye On Goa"remix was one of four versions of the original 12inch and one of the biggest and best tracks of the PsyTrance history. Since his incredible

production the track is still playable also in modern Trance sets. Hadshot's head Yaniv gave this track to his label artists Dogma 3000 and Ticon. The hit is at the other side, cause as expected Ticon are combining the their unique tribal style with the full melodic power of the original track. This mix is really "up to date" in the sense of the words, a beauty and a final euphoric kick for every better good-morning-set. It's perfect. (kai - mushroom)

naive melody of the Evil Drug Lords. The second CD also comes on with completely new tracks, but is a mix from USTAs new DJ Mid. It starts with Star X, who – beside the first really good news from Synchro – turns out to be the Highlight of the CD. Altogether a lot of brandnew music, compact, across the board, on 2 CDs. „Emerald City“ (Creon Recoirds) CD
V.A.
More Dark and full power, the first tracks from this album are to be played in the night on the dancefloor and will push your body to trance. Like a tribute to the last days of summer and sun you´ll go on a journey to sunset and powerfull beats. „Stars Comes Out At Night“ is a very nice trance melodic track and allmost woman will like this flying psyexperience. The next tracks are more grooving and will keep your mind focussed to the dance floor. (Kobold - frnw)
V.A. „Zoo-B 2“ (U.S.T.A.) 2CD The cover of ZooBs new compilation is a real eye candy; as a little glorified, modern Lenin below hammer and sickle, Mr. Zorokin serves 2 new CDs titled with bread and games. The bolshevic-CD presents 10 new tracks from the U.S.T.A. Crew, all but the Phosphene-Track from Jeremiah of Spectral Concepts (USA) completely come from the newest Generation of israeli artists. The CD shows a mixed program with a character ranging from soft to hard, from Psychedelic Techno (Mental Fusion and Psy Tekk), nocturnal music and Psychofunk (2x Beat Hackers) to the playfully
„13th Moon“ (interchill) CD This compilation is not made for any kind of a drawer, it's completely out of that, a beautiful, senseful, poetic, interesting and functional order of music. Between 78 and 140 beats you can dub, groove, dance or even trance yourself. The tracks are getting attention through their stories, like a picturebook the listener travels through unknown places and spaces. New projects of wellknown artists like Ott and Chris Barker, Seb Taylor from Shakta, Merv Pepler from Eat Static and Will from the Propellerheads are meeting Human Blue from Sweden and Kiwa from Finland. A furious record and a brilliant film. Listen only. Releasedate of "13th Moon" will be end of October. (kai - mushroom)
Triptych „Lost Paradises“ (Turbotrance) CD Triptych music is psychedelic as well as groovy, he plays his own productions and the ones of his main project, Walhalla. He creates excellent rhythms with some crazy psychedelic sounds on top and
especially some real melodic themes. Triptych presents a style that is even more psychdelic and more funky. Nearly all tracks on this a album are able to move your feet in the direction of the dancefloor. Some really nice „007“ samples and a lot of other sweet little ideas will make you smile. (Kobold - frnw)
Har-El Prusky & Sharon Jacobsen „X Waves“ (Hed-Artzi) CD Sometimes very old-school fashioned trance, but nice floating and easy listening.Would be cool for some Sunday chill-out-zones.For all people, which liked the style of Har-El in the past: „Fuse“ is an exorbitant house-song, crossing trance-style with some older house-voice samples. The whole Album is coming in a very moderate speed about 138 bpm. „Flash &Bones“, is very pumping, deep and groovy, for dreaming and dancing. At all, this Album is like a morning chillout breakfast. If you like to have a nice mellow morning at all. (Kobold - frnw)
V.A. „Psycomex“ (AP Records) CD & 2x12“ The first two Tracks on this Album, reflecting a couple of Mexican trance Artists, have some very different vibes as the whole rest of tracks from the compilation. The next few tracks will carry you on the dancefloor, espacially the two „ecliptic“ versions. Made by „title to come“ and „it´s alive“. DJ´s would like to mix with these sound. It would be easy to take the Crowd on a journey and let them dance like a derwish. Not really new, but otherwise yet stomping and flashing. (Kobold - frnw)
VISIONS

The Venus Transit of 2004 „The sight of Venus on the Sun is by far the noblest that astronomy can afford.“ Edmund Halley When the planet Venus passes across the disc of the sun, this is called a Venus Transit. Visible for us as little black spot Venus will take ca. 6h for her meetig with Sun and earth. We can watch this happening from nearly all the globe. The entire transit is visible from Europe, Africa (except western parts), Middle East, and most of Asia (except eastern parts). The Sun sets while the transit is still in progress from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Korea, most eastern China and Southeast Asia. Similarly, the Sun rises with the transit already in progress for observers in western Africa, eastern North America, the Caribbean and most of South America. None of the transit will be visible from southern Chile or Argentina, western
North America, Hawaii or New Zealand. The next time this will happen is on June 8, 2004. This is a very rare event indeed. The last time it happened was in 1882 and so no person alive today has previously experienced it. The aim of the Venus transit into Oneness project is to gather the largest number ever of human beings in a medita-
tion in peace at the upcoming occasion. As the planet Venus - rich in symbolic meaning in cultures all over the world - passes across the disc of the sun in the Venus Transit of June 8, 2004, a meditation led by respected spiritual leaders from the
four corners of the world, will give rise to a deep experience of oneness: We are all One. Unifying humanity in such a way, at an occasion scheduled by the Cosmos, will have a profoundly positive influence on participants. It will also lead to the revival of spiritual sources that has for a long time been obscured, such as the Mayan calendar and the East Indian teaching of the path towards Enlightenment, that will provide knowledge giving hope for mankind. June 6 2004 is an important turning point in the Mayan calendar. Legend has it that the principle of light, Quetzalcoatl, would one day return to Earth from the planet Venus ... www.onenesscelebration.com www.vtransit.com www.venustransit.de www.euphoria2012.com www.tortuga.com
