COVID-19: Easy To Find Latest Advice + Resources For The Scottish Music Sector Advice :: Resources :: How You Can Help @ www.smc-covid19.com To help the Scottish music sector during the Covid-19 pandemic, Scottish Music Centre has created a new website packed full of advice, guidance and resources particularly for the self-employed and freelance musicians. There are three main sections with advice, resources and guidance on ways to work from home, health and wellbeing and of course hardship funds and grants from across the music ecosystem. The team is updating the website regularly.

Our main focus at first was to publicise all the new emergency funds for musicians, following up with practical advice from leading organisations and a section on mental health and well-being, all of which our membership officer Laura Leslie and web developer Holly Pringle regularly update. The site has now expanded to encompass online support tools for the many musicians performing or teaching from home and most recently a section of entertaining activities to join in and stay connected with others online." The SMC is keen to encourage as many people as possible to continue to support Scotland’s incredible wealth of talent in our musical community. There’s lots you can still do – even though you can’t see your favourite artists live,

you can support them by joining in with livestreams or recordings of concerts, interviews and podcasts available online. You can lend a helping hand by filling in surveys about the impact of Covid-19, or by signing petitions. If you can, please consider donating to any or all of the very worthy causes which have been set up to help musicians and organisations survive. Advice: Here you will find links to the current guidance for musicians and music businesses from key music organisations and funders across the UK, as well as general advice on Covid-19 from sources such as the Government and the NHS. Resources: This section includes a range of sources with advice on adapting to new ways of working from home - useful for everyone, but particularly handy for self-employed and freelance musicians, and those teaching from home. Supporting your mental health is crucial in situations like these, and there are links to help you practice daily self-care and to places you can reach out to if you're struggling to cope. How you can Help Page: Whether it's donating or signing a petition, there are lots of ways you can continue to support the music sector at this difficult time. You can also show your support and entertain yourself at the same time by joining in with live-streamed concerts, online choirs or taking advantage of content made available online by a range of individuals and organisations.
