William Carlos Williams inspired many artists, poets and physicians in the
middle half of the Twentieth Century, including Robert Coles and Allen
Ginsburg. His original poetic style with broken lines and unpredictable rhythms
changed the face of American poetry. But genius needs inspiration too. For this
we go to the campus of the University of Pennsylvania where Williams is in his
first year of medical school. Hilda Doolittle (HD) is added to this mix. A
talented poet and native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania she became the erotic
challenge for this young man. At the time, she was eighteen years old and a
Greek and Classics major at Bryn Mawr. This is a fictionalized account of their
first meeting in a small park on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Purchase the score on MusicSpoke http://bit.ly/1CsHBeH.
