and understanding of what a
children’s book should contain. We took a rising problem such as bullying and mixed it with our passion to create a story that teaches important life lessons as well as basic design skills. Further more we are metaphorically expressing the importance of creative arts in a world that prizes and focuses on economics and politics, and often bullies the creative and the imaginative.

TABLE,
there was a pencil named peter who was quite sad and mostly hush, for he was gray and his colors didn’t add up to much.
Because Bryan’s colors were so bright, He thought of himself as quite a sight. Bryan bragged to Peter about the quality of line, “Yours is no where near as good as mine.”
Bryan looked down at Peter and said, “You have no potential,
Because there are no masterpieces completed in pencil.

The collaboration between the pencil and the brush has been recorded since the beginning of art. The pencil lays the foundation while the brush transforms it into a masterpiece; however, the pencil is often not recognized for its contribution to the work. We have chosen to highlight the characteristics of the pencil that often get overlooked, by hand sketching and drawing the back cover. Just as no two paintings or drawings are alike, the same idea is represented on the back cover of each book.
