1- 2014 Football world cup Brazil In July 2014, one in five people - more than one billion people – will watch the same images on TV. Those images will be of the Football World Cup played in South America – Brazil 2014. No other event in history has united the interest and affection of so many. Surpassing social status, education, religion, gender, ethnicity and race.

2- A book to celebrate the purity of the game of Football in South America After the success of ‘Football Muti’ (edited in 2009 by south African publisher Jacana) and ‘Football Africa’ (edited in 2013 by Italian publisher Muti Editore), during the football world cup it will be realized ‘Football America’, a photographic and written journey into the heart of world’s most beloved sport. More than just a study on the American sporting psyche, ‘Football America’ will define and reveal South America’s soccer culture in the running up to the world cup. This journey will be contained in a coffee table book.

3- Define South America’s soccer culture “In South America football is not simply a game but an enduring passion”

There’s a need to reveal the continent’s football. A need to show the passion they have for the sport. To reveal the love of a simple game that drives the poorest of children to create hand-made footballs made of plastic bags. To define the magic, the superstitions and why witch doctors are vital supporters during a local game. South America is a wild, vibrant, colourful and enigmatic place – and its definition is mirrored in its adoration of this sport. ‘Football America’ will reveal the real South America at play; the kids on the street, the local team from a small village in Brazil. That is where soccer’s beauty and purity is to be found in the children of the poorest places on earth.

4- Donate profits to children’s charities ‘Football America’ will not just be about soccer. It will also be a social documentary. Focusing primarily on the soccer culture in South America and secondly, on selected social issues concerning South America’s children and America’s tomorrow: HIV, famine and unrest. The world cup is an opportunity to bring the world’s attention to the many beauties of

South America and to selective social issues. ‘Football America’ will give foreigners an opportunity and role in bettering South America’s future. The goal of ‘Football America’ is to raise money for children charity in South America. The money collected through ‘Football America’ will be donated to the humanitarian projects of Muti Onlus.

5- Muti Onlus humanitarian project: A Shoe for a Dream Muti Onlus is an independent organization that aims to provide protection, safety and fundamental rights to the children, as well as medical care, education and fun. The objective of Muti Onlus is to contribute to the realization of a better future for the third world countries, using above all, but not only, the force and the popularity of football. The intention of ‘A Shoe for a Dream’ is to use the game of football to help the children of disadvantaged zones by providing a structured course based on the game. Which not only provides physical activity, but also the teaching of the authentic and pure values that make up the game of football. This education runs in conjunction with their day to day school education. A ‘Shoe for a Dream’ is sponsored and supported by:  AIA-FIGC;  Juventus;  Torino;  Lazio;  Roma;  Fiorentina;  Atletico Madrid;  Palermo;  Ducati;  Iveco;  and many more.

6- Prolonging the beneficial qualities that the world cup will offer To South America

The world cup will be bringing millions of euros and US dollars to South America. This economic influx will go largely to the private sector, leaving those lower down on the ladder with nothing substantial at the end of the day. ‘Football America’ is a way to divert some of that economy to those who really need it. Riding the economic wave of the event, ‘Football America’ will divert monies to underprivileged children suffering from aids and tuberculosis. Prolonging the beneficial qualities of the world cup by

giving a hand to the host countries children and helping put South America’s youth onto a better path for the future.

7- How Football America will be produced The production of ‘Football America’ will involve many steps in its own right. The first step will see the photographer and designer Matteo Bottanelli, travelling with a Muti Onlus Team all around South America by land. A scouting trip. The team will be investigating possible lead stories for the book. Taking photographs and acquiring editorial content.

8- Who is going to make it Production team - editorial and photographic content: Photographers, videographers, writers.

9- The finished product ‘Football America’ will be a celebration of South America’s football culture, a celebration of the love for the game and a celebration of the purity with which south americans play their football. ‘Football America’ will be insightful and educative. Revealing some social realities that create the backdrop to many South America’s lives. ‘Football Americ’a will be colourful, revealing the vibrancy and splendour of South America’s football culture.

10- Be a part of the biggest sporting event in the world You might ask ‘How can I possible be a part of this?’ All projects rely on funding, and so your company can be a part of this by believing in the bigger social idea of this project and by supporting the project by sponsoring a percentage of the production costs. The objective is to donate 100% of the funds generated through the selling of the book to charity. To be able to achieve this we need to cover production costs with sponsorship funding. The production budgets are low compared with the industry norm. All suppliers have agreed to collaborate in the project taking a considerable reduction of their usual costs, for the sake of charity. This project is about giving all that we can to those who really need it.

11- What are the benefits for your company The world cup is the biggest sporting event in the world. It has the biggest media coverage, the largest amount of economic investment and the largest amount of tourism than any other sporting event. Being a part of such an occasion can have many positive implications for the image of your company. Other benefits include your companies virtue/morality. A social ethic that you can demonstrate to your clients and employees. By sponsoring Muti you will give a clear and strong message that your company is aware of the world around it, and has an active role in making it better. There     

are many hardened facts such as: Your company being a part of and playing a role in the 2014 world cup. Use your sponsorship of Football America in your companies advertising. Your logo in the book and other media. Elevating the companies moral standing in the eyes of your employees. Having books as gifts for clients/employees.

12- Startup sponsors To help get the project off the ground we are looking for startup sponsorship. That will guarantee a good return on your investment. Depending on the amount, we will formulate a media packet that would, at a later more evolved date in the projects development, usually cost a lot more. The idea is this: get in early, pay less and get more out of the project.
