M.T. & E. is the only regional group training organisation in this state which holds a premier gala event like these Awards for their Apprentice, Trainee & Host Employer clients. 146 people attended the Awards including Dignitaries, Sponsors, Host Employers, the 16 outstanding Finalists who were truly worthy of their selection, their families & friends, MT&E Board & partners and the staff.

Mrs. Monica Meulengraaf, CEO of M.T. &E. was very proud of all the MT&E team and their efforts for the Awards evening. She commented that Renee Wundenberg, the Office Manager had overseen every detail and was meticulous in her design and planning. One Dignitary commented that we raise the bar every year with the presentation of our Awards and he wondered how we will be able to top 2012 next year as every year our Awards are outstanding. The menu was a credit to the chef & staff of the Murray Bridge & District Community Club where the event was held. Mrs. Meulengraaf said she heard comments throughout the evening on how great the food was and that the selections were amazing. The major Awards for the night were: 2012 MT&E School Based Apprentice of the Year, was won by Thomas Squires who is undertaking a Certificate 111 Auto Mechanical Technology Apprenticeship and is hosted by Murray Mitsubishi & Hyundai; 2012 MT&E Trainee of the Year, was won by Ryan Morris who is undertaking a Certificate 2 Agriculture and is hosted by Jims Fencing Mount Barker and the 2012 MT&E Apprentice of the Year was won by Daniel Hart who is in his 4th year of his Certificate 111 Automotive Mechanic and is hosted by Murray Mitsubishi & Hyundai.

Murraylands Training & Employment were excited and delighted to host His Excellency, The Governor, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, A.C., C.S.C., R.A.N.R. as their “Guest Speaker” at their Annual Awards dinner on Friday evening 30th March. His Excellency’s speech gave a great deal of encouragement to all the Apprentices & Trainees as he told all those assembled about his training throughout his Navy career and the training that he oversaw making a special point that everyone must set “goals in their lives”. The inspiration that the Apprentices & Trainees took on board will suit them well in their careers.
