“Hi, I’m Anna and this is Carl.” “Today we are going to teach you about Cyber Safety.” “There are so many things that you will need to know.” “But don’t worry cause we are here to tell you all about them.

Rule Number One: I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission.

“Nick is having a problem. Some one asked him for his address and telephone number. It made him very scared. Nick didn’t know what to do”. “Who should he tell?”

Rule Number Two I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that.

“While on the internet Beth got a message from someone she did not know. They was very rude to her. Beth did not know what to do”. “Who should she tell?”

Rule Number Three Never agree to meet with someone you met online.

“Jordan was on the internet and he met a new friend. His friend asked to met him one day in the park”. “Jordan really wanted to met him, But his parents have always told him not to talk to people he did not know”. “Jordan did not know what to do”. “Who should he tell?”

Rule Number Four Never give out a credit card number or password online.

“Sally was at her friends house. “Sally’s friends asked her for her password”. “She wanted to give it to her but she didn’t know”. “Who should she tell?”

Rule Number Five Always be reminded that the people they meet online may not be who they say they are.

“Billy met a friend on the internet”. “He said he was 7, but Billy thought that he was much older from the way he talked”. “Who should he tell?”

“So, “what all have we learned today?” -Don’t EVER give out personal information! -DON’T respond to any messages that are mean or make u feel scared. -NEVER meet with someone you don’t know! -NEVER give out your password! -People are NOT always who they say they are

• Who should you tell? Tell someone that you can trust if any of this happens. Don’t let anyone upset you or make you feel uncomfortable while on the internet.

So remember that the internet is not always safe, but it can be fun also. Make sure you tell your parents what you are doing on there so they know you will be safe!
