Dear Media, You are invited to Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd.’s Technician Grand Prix final. The competition will be held at our head office in Toronto on June 12, 2012. Canada’s top technicians have completed a grueling qualifying exam in search of the top 10 nationwide. The 10 finalists have now been selected and will vie to become “Canada’s top Yamaha technician”. The winner will have the privilege of representing Canada at the Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix Finals in October at Yamaha Motor Corporation Ltd. headquarters in Iwata, Japan. Technicians at the Canadian challenge will be evaluated in three major categories:
Written examination: o Technical questions about Yamaha products o Innovative developments Yamaha has introduced as a leading manufacturer in the global motorsports industry. Practical skills contest: diagnostic, systems analysis and repair on our latest motorcycle products. Customer reception interviews: technicians are tested on their ability to provide a pleasant, yet thorough and satisfactory customer interaction through a reality-based interview.
In order to qualifiy for the Canadian Technican GP the technicians have developed their skills by participating in the Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA). The YTA was designed to continue Yamaha’s worldwide commitment of ‘One to One Service’, which describes our way of providing the best possible relationship with customers, while insuring the highest level of quality service. Customer satisfaction has always been the primary objective of Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd., and scoring well in the customer reception interview portion will be crucial to the success of the competitor. Technical training and superior education is a major part of Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd.’s continued direction as we lead the motorsport industry with product developments and dealership assistance. The Yamaha Technician Grand Prix is organized as part of the Yamaha Motor Corporation Ltd.’s global service education plan.
