The latest round of the PNWMA series took place this past weekend near Vernon, B.C. RTR Performance KTM Canada's Bobby Prochnau, Geoff Nelson, and Chantelle Bykerk were all in attendance.
First up was the unique night race called The Night Pig Hare Scramble. Dead engine starts just at dusk resulted in RTR Performance backed Geoff Nelson grab the coveted holeshot on his 2012 KTM 300 XC. Defending Canadian Offroad champ Bobby Prochnau didn't get a great start and was mid pack at the first turn. The night course was 15 km's long and the trails were fairly tight with some fast road sections. The conditions were near perfect and the #84 of Nelson lead for two laps eventually slipping to second after a good battle with RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs Bobby Prochnau who powered his way through the pack on his Valley Speed tuned KTM 350 SX-F At the end of the night race it was RTR Performance KTM TLD's Bobby Prochnau in 1st and teammate Geoff Nelson in 2nd. RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs supported Chantelle Bykerk was unstoppable on this night and raced the intermediate class getting the holeshot and checking out on her 2012 KTM 200 XC-W. Bykerk continued to push through the entire race getting her first Intermediate win of the season.
The second part of the double header was The Squealing Pig Hare Scramble. The day race started under a cloudy skies and RTR Performance KTM Canada's Troy Lee Designs Bobby Prochanu and RTR Performance KTM Canada's Geoff Nelson blasted off the line after a live engine start on the 28 km race course. After the dust cleared it was RTR Performance KTM 's Geoff Nelson right behind Bobby Prochnau mid pack by the 2nd corner. The conditions were very dusty until the end
when it began to rain, but both Bobby and Geoff battled their way around the other racers and found themselves at the front of the pack by the 20 minute mark. The race would continue till the end with Bobby taking the win and Geoff finishing in 2nd. RTR Performance KTM Canada's Troy Lee Designs Chantelle Bykerk would start and end up mid pack by the 2nd corner. She would race her RTR Performance KTM 200 XC-W the entire race and battle her way to the front to earn her 2nd win of the weekend.
