Just over a month away and the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals will kick off in the Wastelands of Nanaimo, BC followed by a journey through Vancouver across Canada’s TransCan Highway to Whispering Pines in Kamloops. These are the most spectacular areas in which to travel. I look forward to taking advantage promoting again on the tour. Last year was exciting and a success for MXP while traveling with Charles Stancer and Ryan Gauld as we were able to include a little leisure time with our work and experience all the great things. Visiting good friends on the island for a surf in Cox Bay and visiting the ambassador of OGIO Canada, Jeff Williams, and crew is always a great time to catch up and have some insane dart matches, cook outs, etc... at the Dunes was no exception. I travelled to Tillsonburg through the morning mist with @gauldy107 and @kristenarnot and pulled in beside @chuckmesley. My plan was to race my powerhouse Powell Racing Honda 450 to the top position in the Vet Master Class like it was in ‘97 on my YZ125 winning the Intermediate class. However it came to a quick halt when I tore my groin on the 2nd lap of practice in a deep corner rut. I got too low I guess... However, I was able to capture a video from the day and cheer on some great motocross competitors. I was able to walk like a cowboy and start some good ice therapy. Video: Gopher Dunes Season Opener
Tyler Medaglia #11 - Cover Boy Shoot
Tuesday was a private Team GDR Honda Viral Troy Lee Designs first of 2012 @T_Medaglia photo shoot of the new #11 Honda. Mark Landry of Fasttimesinc.com was on hand with his arsenal of camera shooting machines. There was a good crew on hand that also had a separate Red Bull photo crew to cover their athlete. Like a cowboy, I was able to help coordinate some photo sections and take a video for MXP Films that will come out with the launch of MXP’s new issue in June.
