MADE IN THE USA That’s more than just a good feeling! All Hoosier MX tires are hand crafted locally in Lakeville, Indiana, so they haven’t spent months in an overseas shipping container. Plus they are made with the Hoosier heritage of over 50 years of racing experience and passion.

WIN LIKE A WARRIOR Racing and war have a few things in common. Like the importance of having the right gear, preparation and sweating the details. Whether it’s a battlefield or a start line, you want to saddle up knowing you’ve already won before the first shot is fired, or the green flag drops. Getting that kind of confidence starts with racing on a true racing tire. Hoosier has been crafting racing tires for over 50 years – and only racing tires. They have never produced a tire for civilian use. So you can trust the new Hoosier MX tires you buy to always be the same ones provided to the pros. That’s not something a consumer based tire company can claim. Fight your next battle with the unfair advantage that only a true racing tire can offer.
LIGHT WEIGHT You can save over three pounds with a set of Hoosier tires compared to competitive brands. Lighter unsprung weight wins races. It’s that simple.
HAND MADE It might sound like craft beer. But Hoosier MX tires are hand made in small batches and immediately shipped for freshness. Racing on mass produced old rubber is like racing on hockey pucks. The rubber will last, but you’re not going anywhere.
THREE COMPOUNDS Choose from three levels of firmness. The MX20 is the softest compound for grabbing traction off the gate and providing race-winning cornering speed in soft soil. The MX25 is best suited for muddy conditions and the MX30 for hard pack conditions. All compounds are the same as what the pros ride on.

AN INTERVIEW WITH JUSTIN THOMPSON A
s we get ready to kickoff the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour Series, Jetwerx
CEO Justin Thompson is very much looking forward to the exciting summer ahead. With new items like live television on Fox Sports Live, this MXTour Series is going to be one for the ages. To get his thoughts on what
THANKS FOR ONCE AGAIN TAKING THE TIME TO SPEAK WITH US. AS WE APPROACH THE 2019 MXTOUR SERIES, IS THIS THE BUSIEST TIME OF THE YEAR OR IS THE ENTIRE YEAR BUSY THESE DAYS? We really don’t stop at the Jetwerx office, it is a year-round gig. From the race season being seven months long, it makes the short off-season fly by. I’m sure the riders noticed that, too.
lies ahead this summer with the eight round MXTour Series, we sit down with Justin Thompson.
WE JUST WRAPPED UP THE AXTOUR AND IT WENT REALLY SMOOTH. HOW HAS THE RESPONSE BEEN FROM THE INDUSTRY AND YOUR SPONSORS REGARDING THAT SERIES? Honestly, the partners involved in the Indoor racing get much more exposure with the AX and SX portion. All the branding is right in front of the spectators, and the TV coverage is in prime time for the live coverage on Fox Sports. It is why Supercross in the US and around the world is so successful. There is still a ton of people that are fighting against it, but let’s be honest, Canada is still stuck in an age where Outdoor MX is the end all and be all of Motocross. Don’t get me wrong, the Outdoors is an awesome series, it is just harder and harder to get people to travel outside the city to come to an event. I’m hoping the Triple Crown momentum will make the Outdoors great again!!
THE FINAL ROUND IN BARRIE APPEARED TO BE A BIG SUCCESS. THERE WAS A LARGE CROWD, THE DIRT WAS GREAT, AND THE RACING WAS VERY ENTERTAINING. YOU HAD TO HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH HOW THE AXTOUR CONCLUDED THIS YEAR. It’s been a much better year for us. Year one had some hiccups, but I feel year two was 100 times better and ran much smoother. We have some new things in the works to hopefully make the series even better moving forward.
NOW WE’RE ONTO THE MXTOUR WHERE THE CONDITIONS AREN’T QUITE AS CONTROLLABLE FOR YOU AND YOUR CREW. DOES THIS UNPREDICTABILITY WEIGH ON YOUR SHOULDERS MORE? The Great Outdoors, it is a part of the sport. I am sure we are going to deal with changing weather conditions everywhere we go, but it is what it is. I will miss being in the comforts of the indoors, but on the perfect days outside, the racing is fast and spectacular, so I look forward to that.
IN 2018, THE MXTOUR STARTED OFF A LITTLE ROUGH IN CALGARY WITH THE RACING SCHEDULE BEING VERY LONG. BUT TO YOUR CREDIT THE SCHEDULE WAS CLEANED UP BY ROUND 2 AND IT RAN SMOOTH FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER. We had to throw out the old CMRC schedule and start fresh. That round will forever give me nightmares. We tightened things up and the MRC Officials, Daryl and Paul, kill it on keeping the event flowing.
IN KEEPING WITH THE SCHEDULE FOR THE MXTOUR EVENTS, WITH LIVE TELEVISION NOW IT’S EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP WITHIN THE SET SCHEDULE. CAN YOU TALK A LITTLE ABOUT WHEN THE SHOW WILL AIR AND WHAT RACES YOU PLAN ON CAPTURING LIVE? Being a Live TV show, schedule is so key. The first motos of the 250/450 Pro will be highlighted segments before dropping the gate on the 2-hour plus live show. Obviously, like all live events, things can happen to create delays, but the Fox Sports team is great to deal with and we can make adjustments on the fly.

THIS SERIES WILL THE BE THE FIRST EVER CANADIAN OUTDOOR SERIES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON TELEVISION. THIS HAS BEEN YOUR GOAL SINCE DAY 1. HOW DID THIS DEAL COME ABOUT FOR 2019? It came up from just rehashing the contract for this year. We simply asked Fox Sports what their interest was in live events and that sparked a conversation which led to us being on Fox Sports Live. We are filling a void for them now that Supercross in the US has moved to NBC Sports, and we are so grateful for the opportunity.
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT WHO YOUR MAIN SPONSORS ARE FOR 2019? WE’VE SEEN A FEW NEW COMPANIES WITH A GREAT PRESENCE AT THE TRACK SO FAR THIS YEAR. Rockstar Energy is the backbone of the series and we work very closely with them to make this a success. Parts Canada and Royal Distributing are two very key components as they reach our grass roots riders and families. As you know, Parts Canada is a huge influence on our Amateur program and they make sure we are building the sport from the ground up. Hoosier and Roost Factory have jumped on board and will have a huge presence in the pits with their Purple Paddock. So many great brands make this series possible and so many more great companies looking to start working with us moving forward.
GOING BACK TO LAST YEAR AND HOW EXCITING THE MXTOUR SERIES WAS, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT 2019 COULD BE EVEN BETTER? Oh man, that was epic racing, both classes had five or more guys battling for the number one spot. I really hope the sequel is better and the top guys put on a show for all the MX fans out there.
AS WE PROGRESS THROUGH YOUR SOPHOMORE SEASON WITH THE TRIPLE CROWN SERIES, ARE THERE STILL CHALLENGES OUT THERE OR IS YEAR TWO GOING MUCH BETTER? I think with anything it takes time to iron out any issues. So far, I would say yes, year two is going much better. Hoping we can keep the ball rolling and I hope the Triple Crown points chase stays tight all the way to SX.
AS WE MENTIONED, LAST YEAR WAS YOUR FIRST YEAR TRAVELLING TO A FEW OF THESE TRACKS. DID YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE CITY OR STOP IN 2018? That is a tough question, and to be honest they all had their perks and cool things to do. Track: I would like to ride is McNabb Valley. City: I enjoyed visiting the most, I would say Prince George, BC. Overall vibe: I would say Deschambault and the Quebec crowd.
LET’S TALK ABOUT THE SERIES SCHEDULE FOR THE MXTOUR. WE START IN CALGARY AT PERHAPS THE MOST SCENIC TRACK IN CANADA, THEN WE GO TO BC AND THEN MANITOBA BEFORE HEADING EAST. FOR 2019, THERE IS ONE LESS ROUND WE THINK YOU’LL AGREE THAT WITH POPKUM REMOVED. ARE EIGHT ROUNDS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT WITH THE LINE UP OF RIDERS IN TO SEE OR IS THAT JUST HOW IT FELL BOTH CLASSES, AS WELL AS THE WOMEN’S CLASSES, WE’RE GOING INTO PLACE THIS YEAR? I think eight rounds is a perfect TO SEE SOME INCREDIBLE RACING number. I would like to see THIS SUMMER. four west and four east but the country is so big, and with the early stages of the Triple Crown it is important for us to hit the stronger markets to build the series and get more exposure out there.
I will not argue that, both classes are deep with talent and the WMX racing is getting better and better. If we get racing like we did in 2018, I’ll be pumped, so much action and unpredictability.
ONE LAST QUESTION FOR YOU. THIS VENTURE OBVIOUSLY HASN’T BEEN EASY, GOOD THINGS NEVER ARE. AS WE ROLL THROUGH YEAR TWO OF THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY TRIPLE CROWN SERIES, WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF THUS FAR? Being able to build a platform for so many people to live out their dreams. Being in my position, I always hear the negative feedback on the series, but people need to realize without us building this, Canada would have nowhere for those dreams to become reality.
THANKS JUSTIN AND WE’LL SEE YOU AT THE OPENING ROUND IN CALGARY. See you there Palms. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me.
