OUT OF THE GATE: 29 May 2012 Dylan Wright triples into the Walton Transcan Amateur National Championships

Dylan Wright battled his way to 11 of 12 moto wins during the Walton Amateur National Motocross Championship Eastern Ontario qualifiers hosted by MX101, at the Sand-DelLee motocross track, on Saturday and Sunday May 26th and Photo courtesy of Stephan Chagnon 27th. These wins, combined with those from the Walton qualifiers held on May 5th and 6th, earned him a spot to compete in the Canadian amateur nationals in the Schoolboy, MX2-Intermediate and MX3-Intermediate classes. As Dylan squeezed all the speed and power he could from his Yamaha 125, he appeared to live by the motto: “Two wheels, one engine, no limits”. As he scrubbed jumps, hammered into corners, and literally leaped into positions to make a pass, Dylan clearly sent out the message to his fellow competitors on 125, 250, 350 or 450 cc. dirt bikes that he will never give up and is always in it to win it up until he sees the checkered flag. The weekend was riddled with exciting battles between D-Dub (the new nickname announcer Mike Maunders had for Dylan) and KTM rider Taylor Arsenault. They often exchanged the lead, to the delight of the many spectators taking in the event. Noticeably absent from the start line was fellow MX101 teammate Tyler Duffy who is nursing an injury. (Get well soon buddy!) Neither he nor his dad could stay away from the track. While Tyler shared his wit and insight into the racing as the announcer on Sunday, Steve wrenched on Dylan’s Yamaha during the weekend. (He obviously helped Billy do something right because the 125 successfully survived Dylan’s abuse through all 12 motos!) With these key wins under his belt, Dylan looks forward to representing MX101, Yamaha, FOX, EKS Brand goggles, Gourlay Performance Products and REV Sports Performance at the Canadian amateur nationals. In the meantime, Dylan has one more local race at Sand-Del-Lee in mid-June, before he heads out to Shippensburg Pennsylvania for the Loretta Lynn Regional Qualifiers on June 23rd and 24th.
