Let’s make December a time for generosity! Dear Aerie Brothers and Auxiliary Sisters: We would like to remind you that there are several upcoming events during the month of December. We will continue to collect food this month for the food bank and also collect unwrapped games, toys, baseballs, footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, etc. Please help us to make someone else’s Christmas a little special. Brothers and Sisters, We are approaching our 75th anniversary and we have a project in which we need your help. We would like to have a slogan for our Aerie and a logo for our Aerie. The slogan could be anything that is not already taken by the Grand Aerie, such as “People Helping People” or used by a neighboring Aerie, such as: “The Friendliest Aerie.” The logo could contain a daffodil or an eagle or the eagle symbol, or whatever you think symbolic of the Puyallup Eagles. Please email them to me at blakely2308@live.com or put them in the slot at the secretary’s office with my name on the envelope. All entries must be received by February 28, 2013. The one selected from each category will receive a $50 gift certificate good at the Puyallup Eagles. — Leonard Blakely, 75th Anniversary Chairman

Texas Hold’em
Championship Tourney set for December 9th The November 11 Veterans’ Day Texas Hold’em game was an absolute blast. We had 95 players and it was a little hectic at times as Kathy Buse was under the weather and unable to help. Get well soon, Kathy. You have until the January 13 Texas Hold’em game to mend. Bob Newberg also had to leave as he fell and broke a couple ribs and skinned his arm up pretty good. We wish you a speedy recovery. One of our good guys, Ted Staab, had knee surgery and we miss him. We hope you can make the December 9 game buddy. November winners were: First, Tim Shea; second, Marv Fleck; third, Bob Shephard; fourth, Aaron Cox; fifth, David R. Calhoun; sixth, Eric Strom; seventh, Konrad Larson; eighth, Mario Tallungan; and ninth, Mark Lee. Great game players. The pot was $2,375. Players, on Sunday, December 9 remember that the lounge door will not be opened until 11 a.m. You must have your current Aerie membership card with
you or you will not be allowed to play. Game starts at 12 noon. Good luck to all of you. Our first game of the New Year will be on Sunday, January 13. There is a new time change for the 2013 games: Shuffling of the cards is 12:30 p.m. with signin from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Please come early so we aren’t so impacted at the last minute. The Aerie is having a food drive and if you can donate by bringing a couple food items to help the needy, that would be great. New items for the kids and money donations will greatly aid in making the less fortunate have a fulfilling holiday season. We will have a box set up at Texas Hold’em. —Bob Reynolds, (253) 535-6706
Can you help out at Texas Hold’em? We are looking for a volunteer to work the floor at Texas Hold’em games to help with questions, marry tables etc. If you can help, please let us know. And, as always, thank you to the volunteers! This game would not be happening if it wasn’t for your dedication. You are all a blessing. Thanks!

Daffodil Roamers News
2012 is almost gone, but excitement looms in ’13 I woke up this morning to our first frost covering the ground! Where did the year go? One minute we are climbing into our RV and heading down the road to one of our many trips planned with the Daffodil RV Roamers group, and the next minute Mike is putting the RV to bed for the winter. Soon it will be time to start dragging out the Christmas decorations and lights to make our home festive for all the grandchildren to see. I think our neighbors even enjoy getting to see what we have planned for decorations. But one thing for certain is that we had a wonderful Christmas party on December 4. Everyone brought appetizers and desserts that we enjoyed while spending time with our RV brothers and sisters. We even had a few gifts to give away to some of our members.
Our new Wagon Master, Fred Sheppard, has got a very exciting 2013 schedule lined up for us. We will be traveling to places like Kelso,, Cle Elum and Prosser. But our big trip in June/July will be to Ennis and Scobey, Montana. This is a new location for our club and we will be excited to see new sights. Of course we always will return to some of our favorite locations such as Harstene Island and Prosser. I do hope that you will find the time to come visit us at one of our meetings in the new year. Remember it is held on the first Tuesday of each month, upstairs above the restaurant area. We hope our Eagle Brothers and Sisters have a healthy and safe season and happy 2013 New Year. — Sheron Mozzone, Secretary, Daffodil Roamers RV Club
