Auxiliary wins Fairburger duel
Travel season winding down for the Roamers
The contest between the Aerie and Auxiliary Officers on who could sell the most Fairburgers is over. Last week the Aerie cooked and sold 117 burgers, led by cook Jerry Miller. This week the Auxiliary cook was wife Linda Miller who sold 159 burgers. No one really lost as it was a fun contest and the food was really great both weeks. I don’t know what the bet was between the Miller’s, but Jerry, you owe Linda.
From your Club Manager
Many warm events at 2308 this autumn It’s time to start warming up and coming down and enjoying your Aerie. We have some events coming up in October for different charities. On Friday, October 8, we will have a Meat Raffle. A Cake Walk will take place on Wednesday, October 20. Then the Kids’ Halloween Party will be on Saturday, October 30. The Adult Party at 8 p.m. that same evening. Thank you to all the volunteers who keep stepping up and helping around the Aerie. You volunteers rock!! A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our Car Show a huge success. We had 102 cars signed up and that was awesome. We were able to raise $1,000 to share among our five major charities. We had a blast and it will be bigger next year. To Dave Andrews, Wayne Dixon and Mike Sader, thank you for the awesome trophies. To the Kingsman Car Club, thank you for your kind donation once again, You guys are great! — Loni Andrews
Happy Halloween!
I just can’t believe that fall is already creeping up on us. The leaves are starting to turn red and gold and the air is cooler. Before summer completely slipped out of our fingers, we had two wonderful trips in September. The first was to the Tillamook area in Oregon, where a nice group of us traveled to the Oregon coast. We were able to spend seven relaxing and leisure days with our friends. We also gathered the last week in September over on Harstine Island at the Teamsters Campground. The view is spectacular because the park sits right on the canal with Mt Rainier in full view. We always enjoy being together, playing cards and having delicious potluck dinners. This month is our last get-together for the year and you will find us at the Rest-A-While Campgrounds, located on Hoods Canal. We wish that you can find the time to join us and see if this might be a group that you could enjoy. Please feel free to contact Sheron Mozzone or Bill Bell for information about our outings. — Sheron Mozzone, Secretary
Texas Hold’em Fair turnout on a Fair day
It’s Fair time again and we had a fair turnout with a total of 90 players on Sunday, September 12. We had a couple of new faces and missed the ones who weren’t able to play. The Winners were: First, Jerry Almond; second, Jamie Stenwick; third, Bob Shephard; fourth, Dan Gorham; fifth, John Pfaff; sixth, Roberta Roberts; seventh, Mark Hines; eighth, Virginia Hyler; and ninth, Johnny Gallagher. Thanks, players, for being supportive of us here. We are trying our best to run a good clean game along with making it fun for all of us. Remember that we are all volunteers! I want to thank all the regular crew and also those who jumped in when needed. Our next game will be on Sunday, Oct. 10. We hope to see you then. — Bob Reynolds, Chairman (253) 535-6706 or (253) 230-2308 -5-

Holiday Bazaar is just down the road Come and join all the shoppers on Sunday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a fun day shopping for all those unique gifts at our annual Holiday Bazaar. Our members have been busy this summer getting ready, so let’s give them our support. Sisters, we could always use volunteers, donations for the raffle, help working the Auxiliary tables and serving in the dining room for the dinner. We appreciate all our volunteers, whatever capacity. Please support the Holiday Bazaar. The proceeds help our daily expenses that occur during the year, such as purchasing office supplies, paying telephone bills, etc. If you have any questions, call Phyllis at (253) 841-1759. Thank you. — Your Bazaar Committee

Wow! Where did our summer go??
Happy Halloween! I can’t believe I just wrote that. Where did summer go ? Our tomatoes never did ripen. Did yours? Soon we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. We did have some fun times this summer and hopefully you will enjoy our meetings this winter when it’s dreary and you need a friend. At our next meeting, we will be planning our holiday festivities, so if you want to express your wishes, please attend. See you there. — Joyce Louderback, Reporter
