Come on down for Fair Burgers soon! I hope everyone is having a great summer. It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. On Thursday, September 16, the Auxiliary will be cooking “Fair Burgers.” Instead of going to the fair for burgers, come down and enjoy a burger with family and friends in a more relaxed atmosphere. Our burgers will make you think you are at the fair, but without the cost of the fair.

THANK YOU, SISTERS!! I would like to thank some Auxiliary Sisters who seem to get unnoticed. The Auxiliary Funeral Chairman Nancy Gould and her Co-Chairman Kim Edwards have been doing an outstanding job. This is one of the best benefits offered to our members and these Sisters pull together at a moment’s notice and just seem to put it all together and make the families feel at peace at such a difficult time. Thanks to you and your crew. The other Sister unnoticed is Pat Jorgensen who does the interviewing of new candidates. She does the interviews on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. I would like her to know she is going a great job of informing our new Sisters of what the Eagles are all about. Don’t forget about Fall Conference on October 1, 2 and 3 in Longview. This is a great time to get to know members of other clubs in our state. My last month’s comment about more Sisters coming to the meetings has been positive. $5,000 gift!! Jim Centoni, right, presented a $5,000 check to Dr. Liao of Partners in Oncology. They give money to people receiving cancer treatment for such things as rent, utilities, food, drugs and anything else they can do to help.

New breakfast hours for fall; Western Night set!! Summer is gone and here comes fall! Our breakfast hours are changing. Starting on September 1, our breakfast hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please mark your calendars to note this new change. Remember, Saturday, September 18 is Western Night, so come on down for all the fun. The band “Reckless” will be playing and it will be fun. So put on your finest cowboy or cowgal duds and come on down. — Loni Andrews, Club Manager


Enjoy the Leavenworth tree lighting on Dec. 4 We are heading over the mountains for the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Leavenworth on December 4. This will be a one-day trip. Come on and let’s go have some fun. Tickets are $40 per person. We will be allowed

We had buffalo and fun at Gig Harbor!

Club Championship is in the books for ’10

The month of August is always a fun time for us because we get an opportunity to gather with the Gig Harbor Eagles group for their annual Buffalo Feed August 19-22. We spent four wonderful days with them enjoying all the fun, food, music and activities. They definitely know how to throw a good old fashioned get-together. September is another busy month for our group. On September 9-14, you will find us traveling to Netarts RV Park close to Tillamook, Oregon. This is a beautiful resort located on the beach, with lots of clamming and crabbing activity. While in the area, some of us will visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Air Museum, Netarts Winery, or maybe the Tillamook County Fair. The coastline of Oregon is always a beautiful and scenic drive. Then on September 23-26, we will be at the Teamsters Hartstine Island camping area over at the Canal. Here we enjoy eating oysters, potluck dinners and card games. Texas Hold’em It was a hot time in August On Sunday, August 15, it was hot outside and we were sweating inside, too. There were 86 players and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Thank you players for supporting our Aerie. We had all new qualifiers and they are: First, Bob Sokol; second, Tim Shea; third, Bruce Howard; fourth, Carl Sandell; fifth, John Pfaff; sixth, Virginia Hyler; seventh, Eric Fry; eighth, Don Janeway; and ninth, Rebecca Cox. Congratulations to everyone. Thanks to all the crew. You make this all happen and we have a lot of fun at the same time. Sunday, September 12 is the date for our next tournament. We hope to see you then. If you are thinking about joining, then you need to get it done as it takes about a month and a half.
