People Helping People One Week Until F.O.E. Racing Heads To Kentucky On Thursday, June 27, The Fraternal Order of Eagles returns to the hood of the Turner-Scott Motorsports No. 31 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevy Silverado of James Buescher at Kentucky Speedway and we want you to be a part of the action! For the first time ever, the F.O.E. is offering three special ticket packages, including a package with tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup (June 29), Nationwide (June 28) and Truck Series races for $195. Other packages include the Truck Series and Nationwide Series race for $135 and the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series race for $159.

All ticket purchases include access to the Membership Drive Chalet on Friday with burgers, subs, chips, beverages and a cash bar, one (1) fan zone pass with access to the Infield Fan Zone & pit road and a guided pit tour. This deal is available to everyone, so feel free to bring your non-Eagle friends along and show them what the F.O.E. is all about. The Grand Aerie Membership Department will be on hand throughout the weekend to spread the word of the Eagles to patrons at the track for each day's race.

Norwalk, Ohio Norwalk Aerie #711 welcomed the Norwalk Trucker Basketball Team as dinner guests in honor of their secondplace finish in the State Division-I AP Poll. The team was undefeated for the second consecutive regular season. Ocala, Florida Ocala Eagles #3656 recently made a donation to the Youth Scholarship Fund. Worthy Vice President James Bird presented the check to Scott Barnhart, Vice President of Financial Development for the Frank DeLuca YMCA. Paducah, Kentucky The Eagle Riders of Paducah #3135 made the most of some bad luck at the hands of Mother Nature. The Riders had a special event planned for The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center but the weather was uncooperative, forcing festivities to move indoors for the day. Thankfully, they didn't miss a beat, raising $1,410 despite the rain and bringing a smile to the faces of Eagles everywhere.

Olympia, Washington Olympia Aerie #21 held its 47th Annual Easter Egg Hunt in 2013, supplying more than 20,000 eggs to local children. The skies were clear for the more than 1,500 people in attendance, allowing a wonderful experience for all. The hunt made it possible for several area children with disabilities to enjoy the fun of an Easter Egg Hunt without any fears.

Brisbane, California The Eagles of Brisbane #3255 held a special lasagna dinner fundraiser May 18, raising $1,100 for the D.D. Dunlap Kidney Fund.


Fort Madison, Iowa Fort Madison Eagles #1287 held a special State Charity Event on May 18 raising more than $18,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Wapakoneta, Ohio Trustee Kenny Kohlrieser of Wapakoneta #691's Community Parks Fund, Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation Vice President Henry Stroh and Foundation Trustee Rex Katterheinrich recently met at the Aerie to make donations to six area groups totaling $6,285. The Buckland Community Park, Uniopolis Youth Football Association, Village of Cridersville, Wapakoneta Recreation Department, Wapakoneta Water Park and the Wapakoneta Soccer Club each received $1,047.50. The Community Parks Fund was established in 1996 and has given out donations totaling $189,630 in the time since. The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation administers this fund for the Eagles.

Elm Grove, West Virginia Elm Grove Fraternal Order of Eagles #1891 presented $15,000 in donations to a variety of organizations during a special event held April 20. In the spirit of the Eagles' motto, "People Helping People," Elm Grove will be providing $1,000 each to four local schools to purchase coats for underprivileged children; $2,000 to Relay For Life; $1,000 to Ohio County Animal Shelter; $1,000 to WATCH; $800 to disabled vets; $800 to Easter Seals; $800 to Family Violence Prevention Program; $600 to Whispered Wishes - Liza's Place; $600 to Adult Day Care; $600 to a local soup kitchen; $600 to Seeing Hand; $600 to Victims of Crime; $600 to House of Carpenters and $600 to Gabriel.


Athol, Massachusetts Ceremonies were held April 28 to institute Athol-Orange Aerie & Auxiliary #4545. The group held its institution, member initiation and installation of officers and presented its first community donation to firefighter Mark Vitale, to help with the purchase of a new forcible entry saw for the Orange Fire Department. The Athol-Orange Eagles had held a prior fundraiser to raise money to make the donation. Members from throughout Massachusetts attended to celebrate the state's second new Aerie & Auxiliary in the last 20 years.

Florida District 11 Florida District 11 recently presented a check for $1,377 to The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. District 11 is comprised of eight Eagles groups located in Interlachen, St. Augustine, Lake Como, Orange Park, Gainesville, Plantation, Green Cove Springs and Middleburg. District 11 President Greg Hall presented the check to Florida State DRC Chairman Ken Kohnen.

Hope, British Columbia Hope #2690 held its annual Donation Day, presenting $27,500 worth of donations to 29 various local organizations. The Eagles provided dinner for all in attendance. Hope's population is approximately 7,000 including more than 200 Eagles members.


Puyallup, Washington Daffodil #2308 recently held a week long 75th Anniversary Celebration which included a special Open House event May 18 with specials on prime rib or salmon dinners, dancing, a 50/50 raffle, free billiards and discounted membership deals for prospective members who sign up during the event. Daffodil promoted the event on its Facebook page, purchased ad space in a local newspaper and encouraged members to spread the word to friends and family. Volunteers greeted newcomers at the door and worked a special membership drive table throughout the day. By the end of the event, 81 new members had signed to join the F.O.E. Pictured are Auxiliary Mother Penny Fiedler and Madam Vice President Robin Sheffer as they work their two-hour shift as door greeters and tour guides.

Chattanooga, Tennessee Scenic City #945 held its annual Cancer Fund "Funraiser" with a Western Dance theme. A horse race and other Western-related activities were held. Eagles raised $2,400 for the Memorial Hospital Cancer Support Center. Pictured are race winner Cindy Wilson, left, and runner-up Past Madam President Anna Broom, right.

Zanesville, Ohio Zanesville #302 recently donated $2,000 to PAL-Z (Police Athletic League-Zanesville), which operates with a staff of all-volunteers that work with community youth to provide a safe place to learn with the intent of preventing youth crime, violence, substance abuse and unhealthy lifestyle. The money donated by the Eagles will be used to help fund the group's youth boxing program. Alberta/Saskatchewan The Eagles of Alberta & Saskatchewan joined together May 18 & 19 at Calgary #2098 for their 36th Annual Provincial Convention. Past Grand Worthy President John Potter was presented with a plaque honoring him as a new member of the Grand Aerie Hall of Fame by current Grand Trustee Tom McGrath. Potter then presented the Ritual Memorial Trophy in memory of his wife Zuby, to Calgary #3475. Also attending were Grand Madam Trustee Judy Johnson and Past Grand Madam President Jean Kerr. During the annual Alberta/Saskatchewan Provincial Convention, a grassroots project was held to assist people in the neighboring provinces suffering from Huntington's Disease, which affects muscle coordination and leads to decreased cognitive function.

Belfair, Washington North Mason Eagles #4226 raised more than $1,400 for Fisher House, the charity of the Washington State Worthy President. Fisher House provides housing for families near facilities where relatives who are serving/have served are hospitalized to recover from combat injury, illnesses or diseases.

Shelbyville, Indiana The Ladies of Shelbyville Aux. #766 held a fundraiser for 8-year-old Madelyn Lamb on June 1, raising $13,189.19 with the help of the Aerie and Eagle Riders groups. Lamb was born with an extreme case of Popliteal Pterygium Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder which causes cleft palate and/or lip and webbing of the limbs. She has never been able to straighten her legs and after 14 surgeries, doctors determined there was nothing more they could do. Proceeds from the Auxiliary's event will be used for an upcoming surgery to remove Madelyn's legs below the knees. Her mother is a Past Madam President of Shelbyville #766. The Eagles also raised $1,835 for Anna's Celebration of Life Foundation to donate in Madelyn's honor. The Mayor of Shelbyville declared June 1, Madelyn Lamb Day and presented her with a proclamation. The Eagle Riders have planned a charity ride for July 27 to raise additional funds for Anna's Celebration of Life Foundation in Madelyn's honor.

Fostoria, Ohio The Eagles of Fostoria #430 donated $7,000 to various community organizations last month as part of their efforts to keep charitable donations within the city of Fostoria. Recipients included: Fostoria Police Department ($2,500), Fostoria City Schools Band ($2,000), Boy Scouts of America Troop #408 ($1,000), the Fostoria Rail Preservation Society ($1,000) and the Early Childhood Center of Fostoria ($500). Their efforts were featured on the front page of the May 30 edition of the Fostoria Review Times.


Springfield, Massachusetts The Eagles of Springfield #148 did their part to help "cut out" bullying with a special haircut fundraiser for the Carl Walker Hoover Foundation. The Jolie Hair and Beauty Academy donated its time, giving haircuts for $10 and nail coloring for $5 with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Grand Junction, Colorado Bikers from across Colorado headed out to Grand Junction #595 to join the Eagle Riders for the 4th Annual Bikers Against Diabetes (B.A.D.) Ride. Bikers stopped at various local spots for the Poker Run. A total of 88 riders participated in the event.

Lebanon, Pennsylvania Lebanon #472 recently presented a check for $2,000 to Lebanon Councilman Tony Matula for the Lebanon Police Department K-9 Officer Fund.

Gaylord, Michigan Gaylord Eagles Auxiliary #1825 awarded scholarships worth $525 to Megan Stempky and Katie Kierczynski. Stempky will be attending Grand Valley State University to become a doctor while Kierczynski will be attending Michigan State University to major in Fisheries & Wildlife.

Cresaptown, Maryland Cresaptown Auxiliary #2883 showed its support for spinal cord injury victims by making a donation of $1,500 to the Kennedy Krieger Institute's CampS.O.A.R. (Sibling Outdoor Adventure Retreat).

Colonial Beach, Virginia The Eagles of Colonial Beach #4315 held their annual Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center Car & Bike Show on May 18, raising $1,037 for the DRC despite less than stellar weather. This year's car show winners were John Pulliam, Steve Deatley and Tim Payne and the bike show winner was Jim Mercer. Pam Hicks and Cindy Allison won the 50/50 drawings while Jimmy Killinski had the winning ticket in the car cake raffle.

Jefferson City, Missouri The Summer months have never been better at Jefferson City #2693 thanks to a recently completed deck attached to the Aerie. Members held several fundraisers to pay for the addition and started a special Century Club for members who donate at least $100. The deck raises the Eagles' profile in town and will play host to great community events throughout the year.

Englewood, Colorado Englewood #3241 recently held a Crab Leg Dinner Fundraiser for Nancy Carlyle, raising a total of $1,211 through dinner, raffles, 50/50 drawings and donations.

Springfield, Missouri In early May, Queen City Eagles #3934 welcomed Missouri State Presidents Rick Labbee and Barb Cornine and South Central Regional Presidents Slick Lance and Doris Nelson for a special visit weekend. Over the two days, Queen City presented $4,250 in donations to The Fraternal Order of Eagles, the State Charity of Labbee and Cornine. An additional $2,100 was presented to Lance and Nelson for the DRC. Cornine's special project, Ovarian Cancer Research, also received $250.


Fremont, Nebraska The ladies of Fremont Auxiliary #200 holds a pork tenderloin dinner on the first Wednesday of every month. Their efforts during the recent fraternal year allowed them to make the following donations to local organizations: $400 to the Salvation Army, $400 to Low Income Ministry, $400 to Jefferson House, $400 to Fremont Rural Fire Department, $350 to Dodge County Sheriff Department DARE, $400 to Fremont Police Department Shop With A Cop and $200 to Keene Memorial Library.

Caballo, New Mexico El Valle #4308 held its Art Ehrmann Cancer Fund/Pat Jones Memorial Fundraiser May 18, at Way Out West Arena, raising $2,932 for the cause.

Marceline, Missouri Seven area students received scholarships from Marceline Eagles #726 this Spring. A total of $2,250 was handed out. Recipients included Andrea Piatt, Charity Mitch, Kendra Gladbach, Nicholas Wilson, Brandon McGovern, Paige Paalhar and Tim Niemeier.
