Our front sign is fixed thanks to the Auxiliary A big thank you to the Auxiliary for stepping up again and paying for our big sign out in front to be fixed. How nice it is to see the light back on again! Mike and Dave Andrews did a great job with new fixtures and paint. It looks good. The Auxiliary also paid to have the new light going up the stairs in the front hall changed to make is safer. Thank you, Sisters!!

From Your Madam President
Yes, I can smell the shades of spring!! As I write my last newsletter on this beautiful spring day full of warmth of the sunshine, lawn mowers are running in the background and I smell the sweet aroma of flowers blooming in the yards in the neighborhood. It makes me think of all of the hard work that has been done and fund-raising money that has been made this year by so many generous people who truly believe in the work that we do. I have been so blessed with the honor of serving you as your Auxiliary President this past year, which is quickly coming to an end. I thank each and every one who have taken an office or a chairmanship and have worked so hard throughout the year to keep our Auxiliary and Aerie running and doing this special work. You are all very special and I hope you all know how much I appreciate all of your efforts. Good luck to all of the new officers who will take over next month.
APRIL - A BUSY MONTH
April was filled with a number of activities such as the Children s Easter Egg Hunt, thanks to the chairman and all the helpers. The annual Easter Buffet had a great turn out. Thanks to all who helped out. I hope everyone enjoyed it. The District #7 Meeting was held in Wilkeson. The Sisters had 33 Auxiliary members from around the District and the Aerie had 32 Aerie members who attended. The next District #7 Meeting will be held in Auburn on Sunday, May 6. All members are welcome to attend. Take a look at the calendar for this month: Saturday, May 5 Garage Sale Sunday, May 6 District Meeting in Auburn at 10 a.m. And of course, come on down to kick up your heals and enjoy the music on Friday and Saturday nights. See From Your Madam President on page 2
Cancer fund-raisers Texas Hold em have been a success! 96 players vie for $2,400 on April 15
I d like to thank everyone who has supported all my efforts to raise money for our Auxiliary Cancer Fund! I have had so many of my Brothers and Sisters at the club supporting me again this year with both money and time. It has overwhelmed me. The Miche Bag/Scentsy Party was a hit. Thanks to all who came out for the Night in Paradise dinner that my hubby and I planned. The combinations of food always seem strange until you try eating it. Everyone always loves it! I am hoping we at least made the $5,000 for the Auxiliary Cancer Fund that we made last year. A check will be presented to a representative of Partners Oncology in Puyallup at a future date! Thanks again to all. our club rocks!! Shireen Ainsworth, Aux. Cancer Chairman
The nice weather on Sunday, April 15 kept some of the players home doing honey-do s. However we did have 96 wonderful players who played a good clean game. Thanks everyone who pitched in and helped. Without the volunteers there would be no game. The winners shared a pot of $2,400. Winners were: First, Larry Larsen; second, Rolf Miethe; third, Amanda Clapper; fourth, Carl Higgins; fifth, Glen Dunbar; sixth, Judy Heir; seventh, Erin Meyers; eighth, Gerry Hopkins; and ninth, Sean Monday. Congratulations to all of you. We had a mother and son at the final table Judy Heir and Carl Higgins. Now that s special! Our next game will be on Sunday, May 20 because of Mothers Day on the second Sunday. See you then. P.S. Please get well Kathy Buse as we miss you. Bob Reynolds, (253) 535-6706 or (253) 230-2308
Daffodil Roamers News
We re packing up and heading to Winthrop! Spring is finally here and we are all set to travel and enjoy each other s company. We were over in the Shelton area at Rest Awhile Resort during April. In May you will find us gathered at Yvonne and Gordy Anderson s vacation home in the Methow Valley, outside of Winthrop. It s not unusual to have more than 20 rigs in their front yard that all come to enjoy the Packer s Day weekend and wonderful friends. We d love to have you join us and see just how much fun can be had by everyone. We elected new officers at our last meeting. Our new President is Mike Mozzone, Vice President is Alan McIntyre, Secretary is Sheron Mozzone, Treasurer is Ann Johnson, and Wagonmaster is Fred Sheppard. We conduct our meetings the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Think seriously of joining a wonderful group of people with a common interest in camping and companionship. We are always looking for new members. Sheron Mozzone, Secretary, Daffodil Roamers

Thanks from Tommy s family It was an awesome tribute that Daffodil Aerie #2308 presented for the celebration of Tommy s life. We had a wonderful place to gather and the Lunch Committee served an awesome lunch. He is at rest now and I am trying to go on as he wanted me to do until I can be with him again. We had 65 wonderful years. He was ready. The glass in his lungs had taken it s toll. Thank all of you for your friendship and prayers. Ralph (Tommy) Thompson Family

A golfer’s game is mostly in his head Golf is a mental exercise. Clear thinking and sound judgement are as much a part of the game as tee boxes and sand traps. Success on the links requires preparation, patience, self-control, concentration, and positive thinking. Golfers who possess these attributes win tournaments; golfers who lack them don’t. Every golfer, no matter how experienced, can benefit from a refresher course in the mental aspects of the game. Golf is much more than an exercise in swinging a club and striking a little white ball. The better part of golf is played between the ears, so players of all ages and handicaps are advised to pay close attention to the ideas that follow. “No other game combines the wonder of nature with the discipline of sport in such carefully planned ways. A great golf course both frees and challenges a golfer’s mind.” — Tom Watson “Golf is deceptively simple yet endlessly complicated.” — Arnold Palmer “Golf is a game in which perfection stays just out of reach.” — Betsy Rawls “Golf has probably kept more people sane than psychiatrists have.” — Harvey Penick “Golf is the most human game of all. You have all the highs and lows — sometimes in the same round.

Golfers heading east for a ‘Spring Fling’!
— Lee Trevino “Golf is a lot like life. It will test your patience. It will dazzle and baffle you with highs and lows, successes and frustrations.” — Amy Alcott “Golf is the ’only-est’ sport. You’re completely alone with every opportunity to defeat yourself.” — Hale Irwin And One More! “Golf is going to test you, but the test is only a game.” — Tom Watson — Milo
