Mom’s Dinner Rolls Yvonne Brown

1 c. milk, warm, but not hot 2 T. butter, softened 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tsp. salt ¼ c. sugar 3 ¼ c. bread flour 3 tsp. fast‐rising yeast Place all ingredients in bread machine in the order listed, with yeast being last (make indented well in flour and place yeast in that). Remove dough from bread maker after the first rise and after punch down. Be sure to remove before 2nd rise cycle. Punch down dough onto well‐floured board and roll into balls with your hands coated in oil. Place onto a 9 x 13 buttered baking pan (3 to a row, 4 down). Cover with cloth in a warm place until risen (about 1‐2 hours). Bake in 350 degree oven approximately 20‐25 minutes (until well browned). The larger the rolls, the longer needed to bake. Brush with melted butter as soon as they are removed from the oven. This recipe makes 12 very large rolls. I usually make two batches for holiday dinners. They are actually large enough to make a sandwich with turkey leftovers! This dough also makes good cinnamon rolls.
