NEWLYN ART GALLERY & THE EXCHANGE
2020 marks the 125th anniversary of the opening of Newlyn Art Gallery, and we’re in the mood to celebrate! Our autumn programme forms the heart of that celebration and reflects our commitment to projects that mean something to as many people as possible. Few artists made a greater contribution to the wellbeing of the nation in recent months than Grayson Perry, so we are delighted to present his epic series of tapestries, The Vanity of Small Differences at The Exchange. Meanwhile at Newlyn Art Gallery, Extraordinary Postcards for Extraordinary Times is a record of our lives during lockdown. Alongside, we present a series of artists’ films selected from the Arts Council Collection by young LGBTQIA+ collaborators. Finally, in the garden, we reflect on artists’ responses to recent events, in particular the Coronavirus epidemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, through billboard posters and placards. Admission: £3.30 (incl Gift Aid donation) for a seven-day pass to both venues, free entry for U18s, Supporters, and Patrons. Social distancing measures will be in place.
Newlyn Art Gallery, New Road, Newlyn, Penzance, TR18 5PZ. The Exchange, Princes Street, Penzance, TR18 2NL.
