30 YEARS OF ST IVES CERAMICS
A gallery showcasing a stunning and varied range of ceramics, St Ives Ceramics opened in 1990. Developed initially and founded by John Bedding, it was originally Bedding’s studio workshop with a small gallery space to show his own work alongside that of fellow potters he admired. At the time, ceramics were often exhibited in galleries and secondary additions and John noticed a gap in the market for a dedicated ceramics gallery that would give the craftsmanship the centre stage it deserved. The gallery now shows a varied range of high quality contemporary studio pottery alongside a valued collection of master potters of the 20th century known as the CBS Collection as well as pottery produced in Mashiko, Japan by the legendary Hamada potters. The gallery is open from 10-5pm from Tuesday to Saturday but do check online via Facebook for updates regarding their re-opening.
